Olympic Proportions: A New Sitcom Coming Soon!
Hey everybody,
I rarely do self-promotion on Tumblr, and I feel weird asking for money on here, but I’m making a project that I think some of you might legitimately be interested in and I’m looking for a little bit of help.
I’m a Los-Angeles-based filmmaker who is just starting out in the professional world, and I’ve written and am in the process of producing and directing my own seven-episode webseries to be released for free on YouTube and other streaming platforms. The show is called Olympic Proportions, and it’s a mockumentary-style sitcom about the Greek gods. The plot takes during the modern day, when the rise of new technology and other religions have made the gods of Olympus obsolete. While looking for ways to regain relevance in the world of the 2020s, the gods discover Instagram, go on Tinder dates, make an infomercial-style advertisement, and continue to get entangled in the kinds of over-the-top hijinks that you knew and loved them for in your high school mythology class. It’s an adult irreverent sitcom (i.e., it has lots of innuendo and the word “fuck” gets said a lot) with a thoroughly stupid sense of humor in the vein of The Office, Parks and Recreation, What We Do in the Shadows, or Abbott Elementary. It’s been so fun to put together so far, and the show has just been cast, so things are starting to move pretty quickly when it comes to actual production.
Since I’m currently putting up all the seed money for the project myself, there are some limitations on what we’re able to do. In order to generate some extra funds, I’ve made a Kickstarter page, with the goal of raising $1500 in 60 days. If you have a dollar or two to spare, my colleagues and I would be so grateful if you could send it our way. If you can’t donate, it would be super helpful if you could give this post a reblog to help the campaign get some traction— any way you’d able to help us at this point will be much appreciated. This project is so incredibly important to me, and I hope that we’ll be able to make something really great to share with with you soon.

Thanks so much. I am so beyond excited about this. I'll be sure to keep posting more about the project as things progress!
Also, I want to give a special shoutout to @missroserose for being my... well, beta reader in her language, script editor in mine. I'm so lucky to have such a great and seasoned writer to bounce my weird ideas off of!! <3
