Breaking down
Feels like falling. Feels like being stuck in place.
You hear everything but can’t grasp the meaning.
Everything around you gets bright and sharp, but you can’t see a thing.
You slow down. You accelerate. Everything moves so fast
People around you get numbed out, yet you can still make them out clearly.
You are surrounded by people. You are alone.
You can’t move. You run away.
You need to be alone. You need someone to help you.
You cry. You keep a poker face.
No one notices. You want everyone to notice.
You are painfully alive. You are dying.
You just wanna escape.

sorry that i lie and say im okay when i just dont want to trigger anything in you its just cause i care more about you than me so i lie

reblog if you’re the worst
someone asked me where to start bc she wanted to stop self-harming & since it helped her maybe it could help someone else as well.
• first of all you have to get rid of every single thing youve ever used to cut. even if you might need the thing, get rid of it. like razors, ?? get rid of them. dont shave for a while. etc. and dont think “well im gonna keep this one just in case.” thats a recipe for disaster. get rid of everything. thats the first step you’ve gotta take.
• then i would say… ok so if you have like an empty box of some sort - like a shoe box perhaps?? or even just a bag idk something you can put stuff in lol (box is ideal bc then u can decorate it but anyway). fill it with comforting things related to your five senses:
-so, touch? silly putty, or something soft, a stress ball, etc. something tactile that can distract your hands. -taste? some type of hard candy like jolly ranchers, mints, gum maybe. -sight? idk for sight but you could put in a few word searches or something to distract your mind. or get a little notebook and a pen to put in there and you can doodle or color or whatever. -smell? lotion, perfume, dryer sheets, anything that smells good & comforts you. -hear, you can put in a pair of headphones so you can just plug em in and get some music going.
• other things that help are painting your nails - when you paint your nails, you have to wait until the polish dries to really do anything right? • also, getting ice and holding it in your hand or rubbing it on wherever you wanna cut can relieve the sensation of wanting to cut. • sometimes coloring on your body can help too. • maybe when youre in a good mindset you can make a list of what are called “positive affirmations” which are statements such as, “i am worthy” or “i am not to blame for the things that are out of my control” etc. just as little reminders. you can even write them on notecards & decorate them to make them look rly cute. • other stuff that has helped me is bracelet making ! getting little beads and putting them on string distracts the hands and the mind. plus you get to have a finished product at the end! • also knitting, crocheting, • taking up some sort of new hobby that is going to totally distract your mind and hands to learn it
• its v important to just distract yourself as well as be kind to yourself. because if youre being mean to yourself while trying NOT to hurt yourself, whats the point
(if anyone wants to rb this and add stuff please do!!!!! im always looking for new ways to cope as well so that’d be very nice)
You should tell people how important they are to you. Not because they could leave at any moment, but because they’re here now, and it’s worth saying something.
Immer.
