The ringing in Touko’s ears drowns out the distant sirens and her uneven breathing. Rubble digs into her back, buries her legs. Her eyelids flutter.
“Komaru...”
Komaru. Monokuma robots. Ticking. Explosion. Half her vision runs red. How much time has passed?
“Touko!” Byakuya’s voice breaks through.
“Byakuya-sama?”
He stumbles over wreckage to reach her.
She starts, “Have you seen...?”
“We found her in an air pocket, unharmed.”
“Good.” Touko laughs.
“But you’re not good.” Byakuya gently shifts hair from her face. “At least you’re alive.”
His hand stays on her cheek. Then, he dips his head and kisses her lips.

When Touko and Byakuya arrive, students have claimed most of the cafeteria’s tables. However, their coworkers nabbed one, and Makoto waves the pair over.
“You’re late, Togami-kun,” remarks Kyouko, eyebrows raised.
Byakuya and Touko sit.
“Yeah.” Aoi cocks her head. “Didn’t you get a high school certificate for perfect punctuation?”
“You mean ‘punctuality’,” says Byakuya, adjusting his collar. “And yes. For both.”
Yasuhiro rubs his chin. “Where were you and Fukawa-chi?”
Byakuya glares. “Us arriving simultaneously doesn’t mean we were together.”
He stabs his rice with his chopsticks while the others exchange smirks.
His collar doesn’t completely hide his hickey.

Gaudy marigold usually swaddles the hotel room but with the lights off, everything is dark, though Touko doesn’t mind being unable to see Byakuya. Not when she can feel him.
“You’re so noisy,” he murmurs against her neck, his hands in her hair and his legs tangled with hers.
She mumbles beneath him, “I can’t help it...”
His lips lock with hers while she’s still talking, drinking in her voice.
“Quieter.” He separates from her, briefly. “She will hear.”
“No, I won’t,” comes Komaru’s muffled voice from the next room.
Byakuya jolts hard enough that he tumbles off the bed.
