It was the South Pole chapter that made me realize The Rise of Kyoshi was something truly special. I got hooked and finished it in one sitting! Hard to imagine that was already 2 years ago…

So… Kyoshi and Rangi all but got married in this deleted chapter of The Shadow of Kyoshi

The latest Kyoshi novel box set features a deleted 16 page chapter from The Shadow of Kyoshi. In this draft of the story, Kyoshi participates in a local game shortly after events of chapter “The Message” to keep the peace. Refusing to take sides between the rival clans, Kyoshi chooses to represent the Sei'naka clan. According to the author’s commentary, this chapter interfered with the novel’s pacing. This chapter was replaced by events of chapters “Resignation,” and “Weakness.”
