Working my way through the alphabet one letter at a time.
Feminism is not about who opens the jar. It is not about who pays for the date. It is not about who moves the couch. It is not about who kills the bugs. It is not about who cooks the dinner. It’s not even about who stays home with the kids, as long as the decision was made together, after thinking carefully about your situation and coming to an agreement that makes sense for your particular marriage and family. It is about making sure that nobody ever has to do anything by “default” because of their gender. The stronger person should move the couch. The person who enjoys cooking more, has more time for it, and/or is better at it should do the cooking. Sometimes the stronger person is male, sometimes not. Sometimes the person who is best suited for cooking is female, sometimes not. You should do what works. But it is also about letting people know that it is okay to change. If you’re a woman who wants to become stronger, that’s great. If you’re a man who wants to learn how to cook, that’s also great. You might start out with a relationship where the guy opens all the jars and the girl cooks all the meals, but you might find that you want to try something else. So try it.

this isn’t shade to anyone, but yall need to stop acting surprised when your fave celebs fuck up. they’re part of a ruling class who are thoroughly isolated from concrete global issues and catastrophes and actually rely on the disenfranchisement of others to sustain their status. their entire persona is inherently problematic as ultimate beneficiaries of capitalism. what ethics do you expect, idgi

my feminist goal is not to convince men that girls are of value, my feminist goal is to achieve a future where the judgement of our value isn’t in the hands of men.

and this goes for, especially goes for, trans girls, girls of colour, disabled girls and LGBTQA+ girls.

girls, all girls, and if you believe otherwise don’t reblog this.

Painterly poster type

A set of eye catching and slightly surreal lettering posters by Pawel Nolbert, working in Warsaw, Poland.

He describes this ‘Atypical’ set as half-realistic, half-illustrative figurative sculptures. The colour mixes are brilliant. It’s so strange to see the paint whipping and hovering in the air like that.

To the men who have told me that I’m overreacting and “it’s the 21st century women are equal now”

Ditto.

That 77 cents thing is only for white women… It’s even less for women of colour

Thanks for reminding us of that! ^

In the reverse

A white man makes $1.24 for every dollar that a white woman makes

A white man makes $1.44 for every dollar that a black woman makes

A white man makes $1.67 for every dollar that a latina woman makes

This is important. I wonder what the stats are in Australia? Indigenous people earn so little on average thanks to apartheid that’s going on…and they’re not allowed to handle their own money
