The Science Team stood around the comatose form of Gordon Freeman and discussed their options.
“I think we should roll him down the ladder like a barrel!” Dr. Coomer said brightly.
“I don’t - that’s not - I think that might hurt Mr. Freeman,” Tommy replied doubtfully.
“A healthy young man like that? Nonsense!”
Benrey nudged Gordon with his foot, and Gordon twitched and rolled from his stomach to his side in a glitchy motion. Somehow his hair was still obscuring his face. Bubby wrinkled his nose.
“Maybe you should just kick him harder,” he suggested. Benrey shrugged.
“he didn’t wake up from it before.”
Bubby snorted. “That’s because that was a love tap. You should really wind up, like you’re kicking a goal.”
Benrey looked contemplative. “what kinda goal?”
“Oh! A, a field goal in the last, the final second of the game!” Tommy grinned.
“Kick him like he’s a ball on the center line, Bopper, and the goalie just slipped!” Dr. Coomer countered.
“whuh - what games are those?”
“Football!” Tommy and Dr. Coomer chorused at the same time, then blinked at each other.
