I used to think any relationship that ended was a failure and divorce was the greatest failure because who gets married thinking it will end in divorce? I used to question the purpose of pursuing any relationship knowing it wouldn’t last. But somewhere along the way I stopped thinking that way. I began thinking each relationship, no matter how long it lasted, was a study in human connection, an opportunity to appreciate humanity from a different angle. People pull apart and attract like atoms. It’s not in our nature to be static, so waiting for a lasting relationship is meaningless. I began thinking past relationships were never a sign of how much you failed, only how much you grew.
