Moebius and Jimi Hendrix
Every war should include
A himbo
A mean bisexual
An even meaner gay
He/theys
A token straight who's on thin fucking ice
An astrology bitch who has everyone's birth charts memorised
And a short king

“Upon this first rule of reason, that in order to learn you must desire to learn, and in so desiring not be satisfied with what you already incline to think, there follows one corollary which itself deserves to be inscribed upon every wall of the city of philosophy: Do not block the way of inquiry.”
— Charles Sanders Peirce, Collected Papers

Ik now a days its trendy to like Jean Michel Basquiat but I’m tired of people buying his crown logo shirt from urban outfitters and reblogging his art without knowing anything about his amazing ass legacy
- He rose to fame while in a spray painting duo called SAMO
- He was black and his family were immigrants
- In 5 years he went from homelessness to selling his art for thousands of dollars
- He was a sex worker
- He was queer
- His art has sold for more than any other art from an american artist
- He was an addict
- Andy Warhol was his best friend
- He was an intellectual that spoke 3 languages and he never graduated high school
- David fucking Bowie collaborated with him
- HIs art mostly covered concepts like racism, colonialism, and poverty
Basquiat is quite possibly the most important figure in American art and I’m tired of seeing Urban Outfitters selling his shit without understanding his importance to pop culture in America
