ok but SU is also great at dismantling toxic masculinity.
steven cries and is nurturing and is emotional and has an openly loving relationship with his dad and isnt ashamed of any of it. he’s friendly and sweet and isn’t violent at all—-his weapon is a shield for fucks sake. hes probably one of the nicest characters on the show and doesnt feel the need to prove himself as tough or manly aside from a couple of random jokes every few episodes.
boys and men are often shown to be emotionally open and honest and loving in this show and i really think thats something kids need to see and learn from
Yes this!
Reasons why I narrow my eyes when people say SU would be better without Steven. He’s a fantastic rolemodel and exactly the kind of male rolemodel kids should have.
Trigger warning: Breakfast
Holy shit.
reasons why we don’t make fun of seemingly odd triggers
I sat here staring at that last panel for a solid minute, reading then reading again. This is just something else.
Garnet is not that great.
what the fuck. this is literally the worst ask i’ve ever gotten.
gf: “what are you thinking about?” me: “oh, nothing.” me, internally: “if Bugs Bunny and Lola Bunny were both on Baby Looney Toons then why does she have to introduce herself in Space Jam? Shouldn’t they have known each other since they were children? Could the Looney Toons Universe subscribe to the multiple worlds theory where Bugs and Lola never met? but how far does this, for lack of a better term, rabbit hole, go? Elmer Fudd was on Baby Looney Toons as well, which means that he and Bugs are roughly the same age but as an adult he is Bugs’ primary antagonist? The lifespan of a rabbit is 9-12 years and Elmer is clearly an adult. How can that be? Could Bugs bunny be immortal?”
getting 0 notes on a post is really embarrassing because you KNOW your followers saw it but they just scrolled past it and didn’t do anything about it
Imagine if this post got 0 notes
SpongeBob don’t give a fuck about your gender roles
You using sign language is cultural appropriation. You're taking something from Deaf people, people who have beautiful culture and language and butchering it.
wait sorry what’d you say?
a little bit louder please?
no just a tad bit louder
OH WAIT I CANT HEAR THE HATERS
BECAUSE IM DEAF, ASSHOLE
also
also “don’t learn sign language if you’re not deaf because it’s cultural appropriation” is. it’s just. it’s the most incomprehensibly terrible argument i have ever heard.
Tumblr is a wild wild place
"don’t learn to communicate with deaf people, it’s offensive, let them be put aside of society instead"
My mother is deaf. I am not. Are you saying I shouldn’t have learned sign language because I’m not deaf? that would mean I’d never have had a conversation with my own mother. I’d never be able to tell her how much I love her. I’d never be able to tell her how important she is. fuck you, anon.
Oh my good golly christ
Dudes no one is saying boys shouldn’t watch steven universe we’re saying don’t let them code it into something it’s not ie. masculine. It’s like what bronies did to mlp, making its fandom a space that became utterly unsafe for a lot of people.
This show is super progressive and having the fandom go in that direction won’t be doing it any favors.
all of a sudden this country aint so great
?????????!??????
IF YOU SEE THIS SHEEP ON YOUR DASH AND YOU DON’T REBLOG IT THEN BAD SHIT MIGHT HAPPEN PROBABLY FOR 7 OR 8 YEARS I HAVEN’T DECIDED YET
its cute
we’ll probably have good luck
ICYMI: In which a 13-year-old boy comes out to his best friend via text message, and adorable unconditional support ensues. Ain’t nothing wrong with being gay, my friend. (via BuzzFeed)
what makes it more adorable is he offered to call when he knew something was wrong
I also love how often the word bro was used
This is the proper way to be a bro.
# how to bro 101
I still crying about “Rose’s scabbad” so I made a ridiculous shoujo comic about Pearl.
