We’re literally asking for bare minimum to rebuild from scratch in a strange country.
To regain a sense of stability. So my dad can find a new career after 30 years. So I can support my parents on one income. So my brother can get through the semester.

and then I watch one video of someone helping another human being and start crying because God is reminding me there’s still good in the world. even if it’s not in my world right now, it’s always there.
it’s been a month and a half since I’ve been offered this job. I’ve sent them every document on earth minus a vaginal ultrasound and CT scan and I’ve yet to receive my contract or start date.

both my parents have chronic illnesses and we don’t even wanna think about their meds running out.
we’re keeping our spirits high and positive as we navigate what is the hardest weeks of our lives. we’re trying to accept the end of the life we knew while figuring out how to build a new one in strange countries.
my siblings and I are heartbroken being separated from them. we’re glad we’re safe because we know a lot of families have it worse.
