At this moment, an almost imperceptible smile graced his face: everything was finally coming to an end.
Once again, this is an exercise in capturing my interpretation of Snape's expression, depicting the scene from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows when Harry returns to Hogwarts and enters the Great Hall, just before Snape is expelled by Professor McGonagall.
The composition is not mine, taken from a movie screenshot. My impression of that scene is that Snape's colours gradually fade, as if even his expression is losing its hue.
I believe that, in that moment, his heart was filled with a sense of serenity as the dust settled.
