when men are single and lonely it’s declared a male loneliness epidemic, deemed a mental health crisis, and women must address it by fully submitting to men who hate them and want to hurt them.
when women are single and lonely they’re labeled crazy cat ladies and bitter man-hating hags with no worth as people. men are not expected to take any responsibility for the fact that women are scared to date them.
stop calling it the male loneliness epidemic and start calling it what it is: the epidemic of men being undateable porn addicts who don’t view women as human beings and are incapable of acknowledging the very real fears that their female peers have around being in romantic/sexual relationships with them
Part of the difference, in my mind, is because women are single by choice but men are single because no women will date them. Forever single women have often dated before, many times, and found it to be boring or too draining to justify continuing. Single women are independent, self sufficient, and in control of their lives, happiness, and futures.
Single men are single because no women will put up with their shit. They don't want partners, they want mothers, therapists, maids, and sex dolls all rolled into one. They don't want an equal partner, they want a servant who will be completely subservient to them, it's why they often go for women much younger than them, they think they can groom them into the servant they want since women their age have already developed a sense of self worth. Men like this are the ones living off takeout on disposable cutlery and plates because they can't be arsed to do the damn dishes.

The other night some gyns and I read some passages from The Whipping Girl out loud together and it was just as bad as you would expect it to be. 💀 How that book was allowed to be published and that man hailed as a leading trans voice is proof that misogyny is running rampant in our society.
