It’s all blending into one: Sketches & musings for commission by Loughborough University Arts / Radar (some will be followed up, some won’t): Submission to Limner Journal: ‘Overworlds & Underworlds’ by brothers Quay. These are initial speculations for…
My First ever reblog, and boy does it call for one.
The fourth in the My Phone Hates Me series, filled with my most recent absurd autocorrected texts I have sent. Both funny and weird, this is for those of you who have an Iphone. You love it to bits and yet it hates you, its sole purpose it to make you seem stupid. I am forever sending mispelt texts thanks to my phone and I have illustrated some of my favourite and most unusual. There is no indication as to what the texts should have been, it is up to the reader to try and figure that out. But one example is “Hellish Hellish” that was me trying to text the word Hello except I just kept sending the word Hellish over and over. Pages: 16 Paper size: A5 Paper Weight: 160gsm Cover Weight: 325gsm Available to buy on etsy.
I’ve been horribly lazy on the illustration front over the past few months (thanks to a new full-time job) I’ve been doing the odd drawing here and there, but have failed miserably at starting a new project. Any illustrators out there, how do you juggle full-time work and your art?

These are many, hastily taken photos of my most recent project, ‘I shot the serif’, where I designed and then hand made a book exploring the basic rules surrounding the use of typography. By using interactive techniques and as little information as possible, I hoped for this book to have the tools to equip the reader with the basic understanding that I feel every designer needs when designing with type.
This is most definitely where my obsession with type blossomed into something truly frightening.
Higher quality pictures to be added shortly.
My book is finally finished! My manager kindly let me borrow the spray mount from work on Saturday so I could put the paintings inside the book, without having to spend yet more money! I’m slightly concerned about the stitching of the book so I might tighten that up but it should be fine, I think...
