A Walk at Twilight (1889–1890)

whats the difference between Long Island and Staten Island
they are two completely different islands. long island is the big long island sticking out of New York. Staten Island is the tiny island in New York City between the west coast of Long Island and the mainland
long island is where you go to experience total ego destruction over a period of decades. staten island is where you go to get stabbed by a clown
One of the best parts about folk music is that there are always versions of the song you haven’t heard. Lyrics change as people pass the song around, someone realizes that it sounds just as good sung to another song’s tune, different cultures change the setting to reflect where they’re from. Music for the people, by the people.
This is also the worst part about folk music, because everyone else in the world will have learned your favorite song a different way, and that way will always be objectively wrong.
I noticed in another ask you answered you said "even if the Writers Strike is over and I can promote it" about Good Omens Season 2. As far as promoting it goes, does answering questions on Tumblr not count? I figure it's a difference between being paid for your presence at a con or interview event vs. indulging us here in your free time, but I might also be wrong.
The WGA Strike rules forbid doing promotional panels and events at film festivals and such and by extension I wouldn’t do a Press Junket or interviews.
I’m happy to be here being silly about my show on Tumblr.

Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
and while we’re at it, fuck this idea that ONE ACCOUNT has to belong uniquely to ONE PERSON. This is the same thing these silicon valley fucks want; their vision of the future where everyone has a unique biometric ID code implanted in their body is the ultimate extension of Netflix’s “no password sharing” policy. You want to use your friend’s car? Sorry, you can’t, you need to be an authorized user. Your mother wants to let you look something up on her OED account? Too bad! That’s only for her! The concept of perfect market efficiency gives them greedy little money bag eyes.
If I pay money to have a newspaper sent to my house, they don’t charge me extra when I show it to my dad. This password sharing thing isn’t just a Netflix problem; don’t be surprised if it shows up elsewhere in other forms. Stamp this idea out now or we’ll be stuck with it.
It is already bleeding education dry. Instead of being able to purchase a class set of textbooks that could be used by hundreds of students over many years, each student must now have their own login. For one program, that’s costing $70k for a single year.
$70k.
Education, especially public education in urban and lower income areas, is underfunded. We simply can’t afford this but have no alternative because textbooks aren’t being printed anymore.
Joyce giving Eddie the whole shovel talk but it's terrifying bc she's so sweet about it. She spends most of the time talking about how Steve is such a lovely young man and how much he means to her and so many other people. She slips in a casual "who knows what would happen to whoever breaks our boys heart" with dangerous ease.
I’m crying my beautiful husband has wrapped the most limp wristed pathetic sickly blunt in the world

"Walkable city" is not "City where to have to walk everywhere."
"Walkable city" is.
People get so caught up in the "Walkable" part of the term and like to spout "Walkable cities are abelist because not everyone can walk".
Bitch. The modern city structure is abelist because not everyone can drive. And classist because not everyone can afford a car and it's pretty damn impossible to get a job if you don't have a car.
Walkable cities are cities where people can reasonably get from pointA to pointB without requiring a motor vehicle.
"But fae. Disabled people have issues using the paths in modern cities." Bitch abled people can barely use the paths in modern cities. That's kind of the fucking problem.
Also walkable cities have fucking benches. Not only for disabled people. But sometimes you just twist your ankle and need to sit for a moment.
"Put fae. If you have benches, homeless people will sleep on them."
Then get fucking housing for the homeless. Problem solved. They'll sleep in their nice warm homes instead of on the benches.

If you manage an account for a small business or a personal project, go log into your account right now and back up your work.
Things are getting worse on Twitter by the day and the suspensions are not rumors, they are happening. Please make sure to make copies of things you don't want to lose forever.
I talked about this on my Twitter already, but it's especially important to keep hammering in this one major point: this policy applies to the accounts of people who are deceased. Other social media sites have protocols to deal with the dead, and Twitter does not.
Shon Howell was a good friend of mine. He's better known as King Cheetah, a prolific furry artist that had been active since the 90s. In early 2019, he died from cancer, leaving all of his art and social media accounts abandoned.
Once this policy was announced the other day, I realized what that meant. So I went back to check Shon's Twitter, and...
Thankfully, I do have a huge archive of all of his work, and I'm in the process of tracking down and preserving anything that's left. But keep in mind, especially if you're an artist and use Twitter as your main platform: go somewhere else. Make sure your work is elsewhere. Make sure you can be contacted elsewhere. Twitter clearly has no concern about archiving your posts anymore because Elon fucked things up and seems to be invested in continuing to make it worse.
Hey at what point is the federal government supposed to step in and ask what the fuck is going on when a State starts CLEARLY going off the rails thanks to ONE VERY SPECIFIC person?
Where are all the Calvin and Hobbes enjoyers??
