I’m going to open requests for batfam drabbles. I’ll try to post some so people can see my writing before requesting. Please keep in mind, I am new to the fandom, I haven’t read the bajillion issues that are out, but I will try to keep them as close to characterization (or the characterization I think fits them best) as possible. Also, I’m still trying to catch up on other batfam members, so I don’t know all of them, but I will try to be as inclusive as possible.

So please be kind and understanding :)

Also, I will be keeping the drabbles I write as gender neutral as possible. If you send a request, please state if you would like certain pronouns used so I can be as accommodating as possible.

(P.S. I’m not writing for Damian, he’s a child)

people treat bisan, motaz and plestia like they're influencers instead of, you know, people who have endured/are enduring war crimes beyond imagining and ethnic cleansing. what I mean is, they never asked to be spokesperson for their people's humanity, or planned to be so visible. they're just people, ordinary people who can never go home, who are surviving colonial violence. what they're doing and what they have done defies any term of admiration or respect I could apply. But I wish that people would stop thinking of these individual Palestinians trying to survive in war zones like celebrities or politicians with actual power because it's just another form of dehumanisation. Ask yourself, what will you do if something happens to Bisan? If she is killed or goes dark or inshallah she escapes? Everyday I see posts like, "if Bisan dies, I'll riot!" riot NOW. speak up, now! Palestinians and Lebanese and Syrian people who aren't going viral on social media are being murdered by the occupation in the 100s everyday. I am begging people to stop hingeing their faith in the free Palestine movement and the movement to end the Zionist occupation on individuals. I love Bisan and Motaz and Plestia with all my heart and pray for them every day, but I'm begging people not to reframe Palestinian liberation through individualism. Support BDS, donate to UNRWA or the Red Crescent Society, listen to Palestinians across Palestine and the diaspora. Your belief in the freedom of Indigenous peoples has to transcend the ones most visible and palatable to you.

language is really telling. palestinians die vaguely, but israeli’s are specifically killed. palestinian little girls are called young women, but israeli little girls get to be called the children that they are. pay attention to the words being used. you might not even notice it’s propaganda you’re reading.

Only 3 months after completing the long-planned ethnic cleansing of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) by forcing out Armenians, the indigenous population with a history of over 3000 years and, thus, having successfully carried out yet another step of turk-azeri multi-stage strategy of the (second!) genocide of Armenians...And yet, rather than be held accountable for the above-mentioned, azerbaijan recently won the bid to host the United Nation's climate summit next year.

REWARDED 3 months after carrying out an ethnic cleansing! It's funny how the world is so selective about which war crimes must be reprimanded and which ones— rewarded.

happy hanukkah to those celebrating but particularly to those struggling to celebrate bc of what is being done in their name. u don't have to answer for it but i know it can be hard to reconcile sadness and community, and u r not alone in this. in better times all our celebrations will be unmarred.

i do not pity israel. never have, and never will.

each night that gaza experiences is deadlier than the last, as idf soldiers record propaganda tiktoks, make rave parties and grwms and fit checks, gloat over having food and water, and film themselves deriving sadistic pleasure from torturing their hostages and victims and desecrating the dead.

Palestinians have to display their martyred before the camera for you to believe the atrocities that the zionist entity has subjected them to. they cannot even mourn in private. the apartheid entity murders them in cold blood, and you deliver the killing blow by doubting them.

babies whose families have been killed will never get to know their own name.

i can't reshare a tenth of the videos and photos that cross my timeline. i have seen more dead children in the past month than i have known death my entire life.

israeli settlers burn olive trees, bomb bakeries and fishing boats, shower white phosphorus and earthquake bombs on the captive civilians of gaza. you already know about the disastrous effects of white phosphorus, but earthquake bombs were last used during ww2 to wipe out entire cities.

how holy is the land that seeks to be built over the mass graves of thousands of children? is it holier than the miracle of a child being born in this hypocritical world?

all 11 universities in gaza have been bombed. academics should be agitating right now, especially those who call themselves "decolonial thinkers." destruction of universities is a sinisterly deliberate act to sabotage the Palestinians who will survive this great catastrophe.

the act of cleansing your hands before prayer is extremely important to muslims. no part of us can remotely comprehend the grief of the mother who refused to wash her hands from the blood of her children after losing them in a zionist airstrike over gaza. "I swear I won't wash them, I won't wash my hands, how else am I supposed to sleep near my kids."

it is only both moral and right when one side defends itself. the other side are the price of war, no better than insects and cattle and sheep left to die within the four walls of the slaughterhouse.

this situation should not be up for debate, but let me finish with one final thing : do your research about Palestine. HOWEVER. you do not need a degree in middle east studies to object to an ongoing genocide. if someone outwits you in a debate about historical details and every nuance of a subject, you were and will remain entirely correct in objecting to a genocide.

may those martyred rest in peace and be reunited again with their loved ones in heaven's eternal vastness.

DO NOT STOP TALKING ABOUT PALESTINE.

glory to Palestinian resistance. from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.

My MWIII Thoughts

I’ve finally taken the time to get all of my thoughts about the new campaign together and put them in a single post. There are no spoiler tags since the game is officially releasing today/tomorrow, but everything is under the cut with a warning. I have a lot of things to say here, so I’ve tried to organize it point by point. The points I think are most important are first, and I ask that you take the time to read through them. If you want to skip to the points about characters and that death, the beginning of those sections is marked with red, but be prepared to scroll.

I watched the custscenes, with gameplay, all the way through once and I’m not doing it again. I tried to go back to specific scenes to reference in this post, but even that was a lot for me, so if my timeline in here is a little screwy don't fault me too much.

If you just want my quick, overall thoughts: This campaign was two hours of egregiously incoherent, poorly written, shoddily thrown together military propaganda, even more than the cod games usually are, and your money would be much better spent donating to help Palestine - there are links to do so in this review, marked with green, as well as boycott information, and the same donations links are also provided on this shorter post if you want to go directly to them.

(There are spoilers below, and this is long. I'm not kidding. Do not click the readmore unless you are prepared to scroll.)

I noticed a tonne of excuses for the scene with Samara/the games themselves outside of trying to erase it entirely, and wanted to add:

saying: "it's just a game" / "COD isn't political" / "It's not real" is nonsensical because you're speaking as if the entire existence of the IP wasn’t taking real-life wars, that impacted and devastated real-life people, and turning them into an FPS. That’s the whole premise of the game. That's always been the premise of the game. Defending it as fiction is improbable when every scrap of conflict within the IP directly links to one that happened in the real world.

"boycott fatigue" the weaponization of self-centered mental health language used for self pity and for enforcement of the status quo is so fucking sinister. i PROMISE you your quality of life won't implode if you don't renew your subscription for that mouse streaming service that boasts shows with milquetoast white gays that're getting canceled after one season. i promise you it's not the end of the world if you forgo caffeine or god forbid try making it yourself for a change instead of standing twenty minutes in a queue to pay eight dollars for something that's mostly water sugar and ice. grow the fuck up.

Trick-or-Treat

Jason Todd x fem!reader

Word Count: 577

A/N: Happy Halloween! I put fem!reader, but honestly, anyone can dress up as the bride of Frankenstein.

Also, thank you to @snips-501 for the idea!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"You owe me big time, Todd."
"Shut up and smile."
Damian pouted as Jason's eyes searched for you in the throng of excited children being held back by their parents. Last week at the manor, you'd casually revealed that you had never gone trick-or-treating as a kid and then made the mistake of placating the group of vigilantes by saying that you had never celebrated Halloween at all. It wasn't a big deal - that's what you would tell yourself to cope - and now, you were too old for trick or treating.
The group didn't accept your mediocre excuses and planned activity after activity on the week of Halloween. Pumpkin carving, scary movies, holiday-themed treats, everything and anything that was associated with the spooky day, you had done. Except for the one you had wanted to do the most, the one that made you jealous of the other kids that came to school with their earnings: trick-or-treating.
You'd waved off everyone's potential solutions to the missed opportunity, citing the social age limit as the reason for your dismissal, but your boyfriend was one stubborn bastard. The week before Halloween, he all but held a gun to Damian's head and forced him to call and ask if you'd like to 'supervise' his trick-or-treating rounds in the neighborhood - the one where fun-size candies were non-existent and frowned upon. You had agreed with restrained excitement with the idea that you'd been helping Damian and being able to see what you missed out on, which is what Jason had planned.
He raised his hand and smiled when he saw you weaving through the crowd, kissing you when you finally managed to squeeze through a large party.
"Child, Todd, I am a child, I shouldn't be subjected to these horrors."
"Sorry, Dr. Dolittle." You teased, fixing Damian's crooked tie and stethoscope.
"You didn't dress up." Jason frowned, motioning to the green face paint and fake stitching and bolts he had attached to himself.
"Yeah I thought about it, but all the stores were out of good costumes and it was too late to make anything. I shouldn't even dress up, I'm a chaperone-"
"Hey," Jason grabbed your chin softly to cut your sheepish rambling off, "I've got a costume in the car, let's go get you changed. Just 'cause you're an adult, it doesn't mean you can't do fun things. And I'll be damned if I let you miss out on your first trick-or-treat. Okay?"
"Okay." You murmured, kissing his hand as he pulled it away.
"You would've had the option of being one of my patients, but Todd insisted on you becoming the Bride of Frankenstein."
"Really?" Your boyfriend's cheeks darkened as you slid an arm around his waist and put it in his jacket pocket.
"So much so that he had the costume ordered last month-"
"Shut it twerp, or I'm eating all your Skittles."
"I thought you preferred chocolate."
"Yeah, but I know you like 'em."
"I see you're not weary of committing child abuse."
As the boys continued to bicker in the midst of trying to plan the route of the night, you couldn't help but smile to yourself. How you got lucky with a boyfriend like Jason and a family like the batfamily, you didn't know. All you knew was that if the neighbors were kind enough to give you some candy as well, you'd give Damian as many as Jason ate. It was truly a happy Halloween.
