Avatar Rewatch 2020

Avatar: the Last Airbender and Avatar: the Legend of Korra. Great writing, dynamic characters, a deep world, and gorgeous animation… both have cast a long shadow, and have die hard fans to this day.

I’ve rewatched both of these shows numerous times, but usually by myself. So a while  back I thought: what if a bunch of us did it together? As a community?

That’s what this blog is all about. Getting as many people as possible, fans old and new, watching and celebrating these two groundbreaking shows all at roughly the same time. Reminiscing, sharing art and fiction, all the things we did when the shows were new. We do that already, but now we’ll be able to do it at the same time! 

We’ve done it two years running, and turns out, a lot of really great people love these shows as much as I do! 

Here’s the plan:

March: 1st-10th: AtLA: Book 1 11th-20th: AtLA Book 2 21st-31st: AtLA Book 3

April: 1st-7th: LoK Book 1 8th-14th: LoK Book 2 15th-21st: LoK Book 3 22nd-28th: LoK Book 4

This comes to about two episodes per day – less than an hour! If you miss some and catch up, that’s fine. If you just join for your favorites, that’s fine too!

This is all supposed to be in good fun! Participate as much as you like, in whatever way you want! Post about here, or join us on our official discord. 

From time to time, it serves us well to revisit our old favorites–and it’s rare when your old favorites hold up. These shows do.
