Something needs to be done about teachers who hate kids tbh
My sister is currently getting her doctorate in child psychology & education, but years ago she worked as a substitute english teacher at a high school in nyc. She spent half a year subbing for a woman who was out for surgery, and had been teaching english there for years and years. Most of the kids in this class were remedial; they had failed english before and had to retake it. Most of them hated the class, and they hated literature, because they had been made to feel unintelligent. My sister decided to introduce them to poetry, which was a little easier to digest than long form prose, and had them read Robert Frost's "Fire and Ice." And the kids loved it! They connected with it, they were spirited and engaged in class for the first time all year. They wrote their own poetry! They started seeking out and reading poetry on their own! They were all on track to get a C, B or A in that class. And then the original teacher returned and failed every single student, to "teach them all a lesson". That was the moment my sister decided to go into administration so she could hopefully prevent that sort of thing from happening. But it's difficult. Despite numerous complaints from parents and other teachers, that teacher had a job there for decades. She continued to have a job there. There are a lot of teachers like her, wielding power and taking their frustrations out on kids, especially disabled and remedial kids. And students have so few advocates in the classroom.
This post has turned into teachers complaining that this behavior is understandable because of burnout, low wages, etc and like. Ok then quit lmao. If you treat my kid like this because of "burnout" I'm gonna burn out your fucking teeth
Hot take but if you decide to fail every single kid in a class to "teach them a lesson" because you're not paid enough you really should just die. At least you wont be ruining anyone else's lives that way.
Or you know, just go on strike, or quit, or DO LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE THAT ISN'T BULLYING KIDS.

we're demanding the prefecture gives ms ivone a new home as they promised they would. she has 200 dogs in her shelter and a lot of neighbors complain about the noise, so she needs to move. also it's an improper ground for them to stay. she couldn't finish the renovation because the government didn't let her, but they still haven't given her the solution. she's a wonderful woman who does a great job at helping these innocent beings, but she needs resources and help. by signing you're helping us get closer to giving her a new place to stay safe.

Please help, I’m not one to ask for help, and I never had, but it’s been a rough last couple of months. I took my old man, Wolfie to the vet about a week ago due to him losing weight, not moving much, and noticed him not eating his crunchy food anymore. Got teeth checked and bloodwork. This is all I could afford at this time sadly. But he needs his teeth extracted. I realized after researching he must have dental disease, he’s on a diet of canned food. But I can tell he’s going downhill 😞 I’m so sad for him every time I look at him. The vet said his kidneys and liver look great for being 16, but his large belly he has suspected to be a possible tumor also, I am able to get the X-ray for him soon but the near $1k bill for getting his teeth extracted is gonna hurt to try to come up with funds I am unable to come up with. I confirmed with the vet I am able to accept $ to his account. I’ve tried scratchpay, carecredit I already have and used on our ferret a few months back. I’m not sure what else to do. Any help is so appreciated and I will always pay it forward when I’m able♥️🙏🏻

I’ve scheduled his teeth extraction for the 14th. I have no funds but I’m just hoping I can come up with the $ by then. Even a small $10-$15 donation helps so much.
His abdomen looks bigger than I’m thinking pre weight loss. I’m wanting to get him into an X-ray sooner to see if he does has something internally wrong. I haven’t seen him poop in 2 days. He’s limping, losing balance. Can’t jump up onto my bed anymore 😞 I’m not sure if it’s even within range to see what I will possibly have to owe if it is a tumor. I feel just awful for him. He use to freak out with catnip, but now he cares less. He’s my baby, I don’t want to lose him but wondering if euthanasia is better. He is a bangle, it does say they live 12-16 years or more. I’m just hoping and praying for more years with him.
