You reference blueberry pie in a post and it turns out that’s Vegeta Nupita’s username you spell a word funny and happen to nail Rose Landslide’s typing quirk you make some post that YOU think is incomprehensible like “don’t listen to them bro your muscles are huge and your hamster is GNC as fuck” and someone in the tags will be like “#OP you’re not slick #Homestuck” bro the HAMSTER?????

One time in 2015 I wrote a fanfiction and I needed a random date for the fic to happen on and by luck of the cards I chose 4/13 and I Janskjsjenbd doohhwhyhwsddfffff

The real meta is the half-dozen people in the notes accusing me of being a Homestuck purely on account of having made this post.

I can't even add to the joke I can't even add anything this is just 100% nail-on-the-head what I was parodying in the original post just turns out I need to try HARDER with the parody part because I accidentally perfectly distilled reality.

The funniest part of the whole “Homestuck police” thing is that when I get accused of making a Homestuck reference I’m nearly always referencing something completely unrelated, or at best something that Homestuck itself was probably also referencing – yet when I do just straight up drop a deliberate Homestuck reference into my work, 90% of the time it flies completely under the radar.

Me: *name-drops any facet of 1990s North American youth culture*

Them: “Aha, I caught you, you filthy Homestuck!”

Me: *includes a supporting character who is literally just Vriska Serket in a funny hat*

Them: “Oh, relatable.”

If they were good at their job they wouldn’t be police
