For the past week whenever I've been doing our bedtime routine with the tiny human, Gunter gets very lonely and wants to know where I am (and so of course, screams for me until I show up). Obviously, this does not set the mood for anyone to go to sleep. Solution: Gunter is now part of the bed time ritual. Bath time? Gunter is hanging out on the shower rod watching. Story time? Gunter is on my head wondering why the bird alphabet book we have has "parakeet" but not cockatiel. Nursing before sleep? Gunter is marching around the bed checking for monsters.

Glad I have such a good co-parront.

well...it happened. for the first time in her life franky laid an egg! it's not fertilized, she has no interest in sitting on it, and it's not something i want to encourage but i did want to share a couple pictures! ironically, she's been having super early bed times and just got hormone treatment from the vet to potentially help with plucking but I guess something else is making her extra broody...time to figure out what

(a little late) easter with naturally dyed eggs for the birds! I wanted to make colorful eggshells that were safe for the birds to munch on. The dyes are from boiling red cabbage, tumeric, chili powder, and blueberries and adding vinegar. Gunter approves!
