So I thought this was commonly known internet navigation (but apparently it might just be those of us who have been using the internet since the 90's who still know it). Or so it seems based on... a grumpy comment I got.

When you see an arrow like this:

It means you click it to expand out a hidden section.

It's an accordion section/menu! It's useful in web design to hide information that may be overwhelming under specific headers so people can only see what they need.

Here I'm using it for people who need the content warnings to be able to check, but for those who don't need them and don't want to be spoiled to just move right past without accidentally reading anything.

It's still the user's responsibility to click the arrow and read things as they need! But it is all warned. (And, yes, the all encompassing issues are already a tag on the fic, I'm just providing additonal warnings per chapter.)

It's Sisko Wiggle Wednesday

WHY DOES HE WALK LIKE THIS???? I was recently watching an episode with my friend and we had to roll it back because we kept laughing over the dialogue 😭

Why does he do that?

Fanon caleb does not get enough credit for his 16 charisma like I know he's sad and haunted and offputting and he's obviously not arrogant golden boy bren charismatic anymore but that cha is still doing work. Like he's persuasive. He speaks well. He regularly launches into well-crafted and carefully delivered monologues. He knows the language of zealotry and he can use it. He's an ex-spy. Like he's sad and wet but he's not a shy blustering social idiot this man pulls off risky and confident gambits on the regular.

Matt somehow took Orym’s simple backstory of “I’m just here to do the right thing and also get some answers” and made it the most gut wrenching and depressing journey ever.

cruelty is so easy. youre not special for choosing it

"The trouble is that we have a bad habit, encouraged by pedants and sophisticates, of considering happiness as something rather stupid. Only pain is intellectual, only evil interesting. This is the treason of the artist; a refusal to admit the banality of evil and the terrible boredom of pain."

-Ursula K. LeGuin, The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas

"Evil is boring. Right? I kinda believe in the banality and mundaneness of evil. Evil is just selfish impulses, which at the end of the day are really easy to understand. It’s easy to understand why people do bad things. It’s like “yeah, ok, you’re selfish and scared and cruel, I get it”. Being good is complex and beautiful and hard." - Brennan Lee Mulligan

It's weird to me that people are like ORYM'S GOING DARK like sorry but while mechanically I don't think he's necessarily going to become a paladin this is like... righteous strength of conviction, not murderhobo. It's not like, dark to go after a death cult or someone who tried to assassinate you.

Also when people are like "Orym can't be objective" like ah yes it's very normal to expect Orym to be objective that his husband was senselessly murdered. Every Ruby Vanguard member wanting to kill the gods because of their personal experiences? Totally justified, no further analysis or unpacking needed here! Orym mad and upset that his husband was innocent collateral? Ok but let's think about this ~*objectively*~.

idk what traumatized or mentally ill person needs to hear this but dreams (especially the really disturbing ones you dont want to talk about to anybody) arent some deep peek into your psyche or a sign of your True Desires or whatever theyre quite literally your brain making fruit salad with whatever it can find on the shelf. just putting all that shit in a blender and hitting obliterate. its fine, youre fine, youre not a weirdo for it

Actually forget what I said. This dream is more important than anything

Wait I thought I was done with Orym defense but I saw someone be like maybe the Wildmother will save him from himself and it's like. Setting aside whether he is on a ~*dark path*~ or not, you're talking about the Wildmother? You think the goddess of nature, including the wrath of the ocean, is going to take issue? You think the Wildmother, who sent Caduceus a vision like hey btw if Lucien succeeds the entire world will wither and die is going to be like no, Orym you must stop. You think Melora "nature is very violent" "my priestess cursed Raishan so hard in vengeance that she put up with Thordak to try and cure it" is going to blink an eye at someone killing a cultist who's stated goal is to kill her? You think Fjord's goddess, who's like hello please have my MAGIC SWORD THAT AUTOMATICALLY DEALS DAMAGE TO PEOPLE WHO HIT YOU is going to be like "tsk tsk we don't do that"? You think Melora "I took your normal sword you won't give up because it has sentimental value as a gift from someone who died violently and made it better at grabbing and stabbing" is going to go "wow that seemed excessive"? You think a death goddess is going to go "you're processing this wrong by admitting what happened to you was bad and unjust?" You think a prime deity at risk of extermination, roughly concurrently with Pelor and Avandra being like by the way, if Predathos gets out we're fucked, is going to tell Orym he's doing it wrong? This is about Melora? The Wildmother? Are you SURE?
