When I found out Paramount+ was removing Star Trek: Prodigy I bought all 20 episodes of S1 from Amazon Video since that was the only way for me to watch all 20 at the time. On 6/27, I lost access to episodes 10-20. Amazon has done what they can, which isn't much.
All 20 were accessible when I paid for all 20. The full season is what I was buying. Now, I only have access to 9 of the episodes.
What is the point of buying digital content if they're just going to steal it back from you afterwards?! Is this not false advertisement?
Seems appropriate
People don’t seem to realize this. Digital purchases are great until the seller no longer has the rights to the media and suddenly its not yours anymore
CW / TW: talking about weight loss products and advertisements, fatphobia in society
. . .
The other day I saw an ad for a medicine company that said they treat all sorts of diseases, and have for years.
The diseases they chose to list were diabetes (absolutely fantastic thing to help treat) and... obesity. And I was just. Oh.
Because I forget, so frequently, that being fat, even if you aren't what the medical system consider "morbidly obese", is considered a disorder. A problem to be solved.
I don't have cable, but the place I was staying had it. So I watched it.
I saw ads for more than six different weight loss products and services. Noom Food. Weight Watchers. GoLo. Three other apps and websites promising weight loss that stays off. I saw an ad for weight loss shakes, ads for supplements, ads for exercise programs.
And it only served to remind me that society as a whole has been told being fat is a curse. It is considered disgusting and wrong, a moral failure, or your body's failure.
I saw an ad for an exercise app that made me feel seen. Someone a little bigger than me, doing yoga. Really doing yoga. Seeing that in the midst of all those weight loss ads, seeing a person doing this and it being just another person doing what they love? Not about weight loss? It was refreshing.
Because so many people don't realize that you can be fat and healthy. And these ads prey on that. And even if being fat isn't healthy for someone, trying 100 weight loss products through their life is also fucking terrible for their body too.
Just. Let fat people exist in peace. Let us do yoga, and play games, and eat what we eat whether it's healthy or not, and let us be humans first. Stop making it a challenge to see who can get us to keep the weight off for good, just to put money in your pockets.
Lost in Stereo <3

Cringe started as a verb describing a physical reaction, i.e.: "I cringe when I see [x]."
Modern slang has turned cringe into an adjective describing anything to which a person might have such a reaction.
.
This shift in language is illustrative of a shift in culture.
.
For a while there, in the early 2000s, there was this big sex positivity movement and we talked openly about kink and queer sexuality and creating a culture of consent that broke away from traditional conservative ideas of moral respectability.
And now we are in the midst of this giant purity culture backlash, this giant push for rigid conformity all over the internet. Anything that deviates from the norm even remotely is ridiculed.
And this cultural shift is perfectly encapsulated in this singular linguistic shift, this verb becoming a noun.
The Revenge of the Pearl Clutchers
That's what "cringing" is. It's pearl clutching.
When the pearl clutchers turned cringe into an adjective, they turned a reaction into an accusation. The pearl clutchers don't want to take responsibility for their own kneejerk emotions. They want to blame YOU.
They are saying, "My disgust isn't the fault of my own backwards prejudices. It is YOU who are inherently disgusting. My inability to cope with even the slightest deviation from norm is not the problem here. YOUR refusal to rigidly conform is the problem. I am not the one who is cringing. YOU are the one who is cringe."
Fuck 'em.
.
Take the word back.
Cringe is not something people are.
It's something judgmental assholes do.
This. THANK YOU.
Me: wow I look dead as fuck
The @xx-dark-dart-xx that lives in my brain 24/7: 🎶 but for a corpse you I look pretty fucking good 🎶
