I had a dream last night in which the newest warrior cat book was called leafpool’s daughter and the cover was just a leafpool sadly staring at you. (I distinctly remember thinking to myself ‘wow this is the the best wc cover ever!’ lmao) It came with three free mini figures of unrelated blue cats, oh and also it was advertised via Pizza Hut commercial. They would just plug the book at the end???

genloss being a commentary on streaming/content creation is so fucking cool to me and its. really making me just look at the internet a little bit differently like

ive dreamed of being a streamer and/or youtuber since i was like six years old but only now at eighteen am i really seeing just how like. dirty and imperfect this industry is.

hetch not allowing ranboo to remove their mask because it would end the show, people only indulging in the mystery of what ranboo looks like underneath. if the mask comes off that means hes fulfilled his role and people have their answers. theyd turn off their tvs and move on now that their mystery is solved. its even more wild when thinking abt that and then going to tiktok or twitter and seeing people freak out over seeing just a bit of his cheek through the hole in his mask during the finale

or how we saw people streaming out of FAST FOOD RESTAURANTS in a mall food court. yknow. places where food is made quickly and cheaply on demand. charlie's stream to me felt like a combination of a few things: mockery of youtuber apologies/the insincerity behind a lot of creators who do bad shit, the need for money (he was asking for subs a lot and asking people for money essentially) bc content creation is NOT always a stable job, and he was literally reacting to colors. its a show of how people will tune into anything their favorite streamers do just because

AND. the people that made appearances? THEY WERE CAST AS THEMSELVES. in the second episode their descriptors were literally things that define them as creators (niki's being "nice" and austin's being "gay"). they were taken from their lives, stripped of everything other than a few barebone traits, and forced into the show. its how creators are so often dehumanized and seen as nothing but entertainment for their audiences

i feel sick /pos ranboo is fucking incredible.

it’s so bonkers to me that generation loss’s commentary is regarding the toxicity surrounding streaming and the “show must go on” mentality and doing anything for viewers when you have the meta-context that during the first episode ranboo was getting actively injured by a malfunctioning wire, but continued on anyway

This is the best place I can find for my Generation Loss theory right now so bare with me as I haven’t written it out until now.

GEN LOSS EPISODE 3 SPOILERS/OXENFREE SPOILERS

It is explicitly clear from the scene in the office that whatever the employees of Showfall are, they were once human, and are now detached from their humanity. When running and trying to find a way out of the mall, Charlie and Ranboo run into a super murdered employee who is covered in blood, presumably killed by the Security Wire Monster. BUT, later, when Ranboo stabs a different employee, all we see is a bunch of wires as they come pouring out of the open wound.

I have no idea what the crossover is here, but in the horror game OxenFree (which I highly recommend), the ghost monster that you’re facing is an amalgamation of spirits that have lost their humanity and are now a spectral bunch of rage, pain, trauma, and primal desire for a body. They’ve been inhuman for so long they’ve lost their touch with humanity.

What I’m all trying to sum up to, is, what if the Security is like the final form of a Showfall employee? They slowly lose their humanity and become more robotic. Thoughts into commands, blood into wire, until there is nothing left. They are slowly changing from humans into an analogue monster, until there is nothing left that is human about them.

Just like. Evil body horror transformation into monsters :/

thinking about how charlie's characters are listed in the credits. "slimecicle/patient charlie/charlie". episode one presents an exaggerated caricature of charlie's online persona, down to the costuming, the silly accent, the very on-brand jokes - this is charlie in his element as we as the viewers are accustomed to. given that these characters are the real streamers that we see, showfall created a character for him to play in which he was entirely and wholly the one-dimensional funny slime guy that he typically plays into, removing the real person charlie entirely and making him just slimecicle - he is very literally not a human. the second episode, charlie is less of an exaggerated caricature but is still not himself. he is "patient charlie" - his role in the game is stated before his name. we see reality break through with him briefly in this episode, so more of his humanity is sustained, but he never really breaks from the act. the third episode, it's just charlie. this is reality. at first he's playing the part of streamer, this satirical version of what it's like to be a content creator, doing react videos to nothing at all and trying desperately to appear engaging as the fourth wall shatters around him, and then he's broken out of it. he doesn't make any more jokes. he's not funny. this isn't funny, it's just scary, and he's just afraid. he just wants to get out of this alive. he's only human.

Niki telling the story behind “It was a bad day to be a cheesecake”

The cast and crew went out to dinner after practice the night before episode 2 and Niki and Jerma were sitting next to a member of the crew that was really quiet. The first thing they said the entire night was when dessert came out: “it’s a bad day to be a cheesecake”. Niki lost her absolute mind and when she came to set the next day (probably only 16 hours later) someone had printed it onto a T-shirt.

Jerma said that during the carousel scene specifically to make Niki break character and she did, but there wasn’t a camera on her so it was fine lol

GENLOSS RULEBOOK

EVERYTHING that is released on the TWITTER, YOUTUBE, WEBSITE (merch not included), or any other OFFICIAL page is CANONICAL to the story. EVERYTHING BENEATH THE LINE IN THE DESCRIPTIONS IS NOT. This means credits/anything else. EVERYTHING THAT IS ON RANBOO ACCOUNTS (Or from any other person that is involved UNLESS OBVIOUSLY SPECIFIED OTHERWISE) is NOT canon to the story. (This includes discord messages) Ill update things as I see them here, but this is the general rules that I am going to stick to from here on out!
