Disgust has absolutely no ethical weight. If you are basing your ethical positions on the emotion of disgust you should stop, it is entirely unjustified and leads to a huge amount of harm.

Word for today: wisdom of repugnance

The logical fallacy that because something disgusts you it must be bad

this is probably the funniest example of a tumblr user simply not reading the post theyre reblogging at all

I really love how Vortex shows genuine love for Beelzebub while also clearly caring about Loona too, wanting her to have a good time and avoid conflict between two people he values. His little head-shake at Beelzebub talking about Belphagor to him nuzzling her to clearly feeling conflicted during Bee and Loona's brief fight, understandably not wanting to make things worse and thinking "Please don't drag me into this." :( (Loona also clearly showing she still cares about hurting Vortex too and backs down almost immediately upon seeing his reaction :( ).

I hope Bee and Vortex make it though as they do seem happy together. :) <3<3<3

*I added the GIF of Vortex's reaction to Bee saying she saw Satan without his shirt on because it's both funny as well as awkward that he and Loona then had to listen to Bee describe how she felt about Satan. XD

Cartoon with identical looking boy/girl twins that's self-aware of the fact this implies one is trans, and keeps the audience guessing as to which one it is.

The girl laments that her friends are buying bras and her chest is still flat. The boy keeps his t-shirt on the whole time at the beach. Neither of them like using public toilets. The girl always seems to be eating pickles. The boy is giving himself an injection... But it turns out he's diabetic and it's his insulin. Oh look, one of them has a trans flag pin! But so does the other one, because the cis sibling is a very enthusiastic ally.

Bonus points if the twins are aware of this and confusing people on purpose.

Dear God, I visited fanfiction.net after god knows how long because the author of a fic I was interested in told me that they are updating it faster on ff.net

First of all, I had to wait here for like five minutes

But then it gets worse...

That's a small, tiny paragraph broken with TWO huge-ass ads!

Noooooooo!!!

This is a fucking nightmare!

all the ao3 haters should be grateful that this isn’t all we have

jesus christ

I'm (not) sorry, but can we just take a moment to appreciate the scene where Beelzebub AND Vortex are showing concern for Loona AND Blitzo's well-being?

It may seem like a small scene, but it does WONDERS in regards to developing both of their characters.

okay so the main criticism i've been seeing against episode 8 is that beelzebub (among other things) is "too nice" to be the sin of gluttony, because she's an attentive hostess, because she expresses worry over blitz's excess drinking, etc., and i wanna talk about it.

the thing is, i feel like this complaint is rooted in the most basic, somewhat cliche idea of the sin of gluttony, and a somewhat boring approach to bee's character in general. the idea is that, as the sin of gluttony, bee should be encouraging over-indulgence, excess, and the self-destructive aspects of party culture and drinking.

but she's the queen bee. she clearly explains that she can feel the "energy" of everyone at her party, and i think that's very important to analyzing exactly what gluttony means to her. instead of indulging in food and alcohol and drugs and being selfish (as gluttony is generally expected to be about), bee feeds on the ENERGY of the demons around her. and in order to get the best energy she can, she needs to be making sure everyone is actually having FUN and having a good time. gluttony, in this sense, is about EXTRAVAGANCE, having the best quality of everything, rather than just everything in general.

i also think this is why she was so put-off by blitz's actions. when he chugs the entire barrel of alcohol and then is absolutely wasted beyond all reason for the rest of the party, he's NOT actually engaging in her sin. he's not being gluttonous; he's not drinking to have a good time or to indulge or to have fun - he's drowning himself in alcohol because he's trying to forget and ignore all his problems, which is a sin much more akin to pride. his energy feels bad to bee because he's not having fun, he's deeply hurt and trying to distract himself by being self-destructive, which is NOT what her sin is about.

(also, remember, this is supposed to be part TWO of the finale. meaning, this episode (and the introduction of bee's character) directly goes hand-in-hand with the introduction of asmodeus, who's entire club IS about indulgence and depravity and everything you'd expect from the sin of lust. bee and the gluttony party are meant to be a direct foil to the energy of ozzie's.)

As much as I agree with this, I want to discuss one part of this:

The way I see it, Blitzø getting fucked up to forget his emotional pain isn't the sin of Pride, it's the sin of Sloth.

Much like "Gluttony=eats a lot", "Sloth=lazy" is a simplistic interpretation of the sin. Sloth isn't necessarily about being lazy; Sloth is more about apathy, and apathy was what Blitzø was going for, rather than the "indulgence for the fun of it" that defines Gluttony.
