It feels like in every single conversation about transphobia people find a way to make it about cis people. Transphobic legislation is only a big deal when it might maybe accidentally affect some cis people. So-called "ra/dical feminism" is only really bad now! when it's cis women who are being called moids. Like yes the extremely regressive and oftentimes like literally explicitly racist view of gender that reduces womanhood to Producing The Large Gamete or whatever is Extremely bad. It is very bad and inherently anti-feminist. It is conservatism masquerading itself as feminism. But even if they weren't doing all that, even if they hired a professional chromosome sniffer to make sure that no transsexuals got into the bathrooms and all the Cis Butches™️ were allowed in, it would still be bad because trans people matter lol
Also I've noticed that people don't only do this about cis women (although I definitely see that more). When someone tells a cis man with gynecomastia scars to kill himself for being transgender, it is not an effective "gotcha" to go Well he's actually cis! So you're wrong! Like yes there is a genuinely important conversation to be had about how transphobic standards of gender are harmful to cis people and how so many transphobes lock themselves in bubbles so completely removed from real life that they see "the enemy" everywhere they go, but also I cannot see "um ackshually he's a biological male with gynecomastia scars, idiot! Not a transgendered! Aren't conservatives so stupid!" as anything other than at least implicitly saying that "go join the 41%" would be to some degree more appropriate to say to a trans person because at least then it'd be "accurate"
because this always comes up:
- the word hermaphrodite is a slur when used to talk about human beings
- it is also inaccurate to describe (most, if not all) intersex people in that way
- “true hermaphrodite” is sometimes still used to describe someone with ovotesticular syndrome. it is up to an individual person whether or not they choose to refer to themselves in that way
- also ovotesticular syndrome is one of the less common intersex variations
- intersex people will sometimes choose to reclaim the word, but many of us prefer not to use it
- if you are not intersex stop using the word hermaphrodite to refer to human beings
I needed this.
Thank you to all the people who posted this so I ended up seeing it. I really needed this right now. Thank you!
Yeah… Not gonna lie… I cried…
We need more people like this
Goddamn it stop making me feel human
The therapist I wanna be.
Text in the image:
“I’m a therapist and keep this poster in my waiting room, apparently it’s saved a few lives.”
I don’t like the phrase “a cry for help.” I just don’t like how it sounds. When somebody says to me, “I’m thinking about suicide. I have a plan: I just need a reason not to do it,” the last thing I see is helplessness.
I think your depression has been beating you up for years. It’s called you ugly, and stupid, and pathetic, and a failure, for so long that you’ve forgotten that it’s wrong. You don’t see any good in yourself, and you don’t have any hope.
But still here you are: you’ve come over to me, banged on my door and said, “HEY! Staying alive is REALLY HARD right now! Just give me something to fight with! I don’t care if it’s a stick! Give me a stick and I can stay alive!”
How is that helpless? I think that’s incredible. You’re like a marine: trapped for years behind enemy lines. Your gun has been taken away, you’re out of ammo, you’re malnourished, and you’ve probably caught some kind of jungle virus that’s making you hallucinate giant spiders.
And you’re still just going, “GIVE ME A STICK. I’M NOT DYING OUT HERE.” “A cry for help” makes it sound like I’m supposed to take pity on you, but you don’t need my pity. This isn’t pathetic. This is the will to survive. This is how humans lived long enough to become the dominant species.
With NO hope, running on NOTHING, you’re ready to cut through a hundred miles of hostile jungle with nothing but a stick, if that’s what it takes to get to safety.
All I’m doing is handing out sticks.
You’re the one saying alive.
I legit cried at this. I’ve needed to hear it put this way. Bless this post.
Every time I see this post I stop to read the whole image. It always helps — even on the good days.
Because it wasn’t weakness. It wasn’t shameful to seek help. It wasn’t pathetic to “cry for help”. I was looking for a stick, be that from myself or from someone else. I was trying to find a way out. I was trying to heal myself.
this is fuckin incredible.
I’m sorry if I repost to many of these, but if it could be someone’s “stick” then it’s worth it
For anyone that needs to read this today.

They also have this one and I think quite a few others but these two I keep on my phone and pull up on my bad days.
Text on second poster:
‘WHY ARE YOU SO LAZY?’
But you’re not lazy. Lazy is when you shrug things off because you can’t summon up the give-a-damn. When you’re curled up tight in your chair at your desk, alone and grey and desperately wishing that you had your life in order, that you did all those things you had to do, that it didn’t feel like breaking rocks just to feed and clothe yourself and get some sleep, that’s not lazy.
People don’t understand. You tell them “It’s hard.” They tell you “No it isn’t, you’re just lazy.”
You start to wonder if they’re right.
is breaking those rocks easy for everyone else? Are they that much stronger than you?
They don’t look like they’re struggling.
“Just try harder,” they say. But you’re trying. It’s not working.
Breaking boulders in your path until you’re spent isn’t lazy. And you do it day after day after day.
You’re not lazy. Most people don’t have those rocks to break. They don’t even know what it’s like to have to break rocks to get things done. They don’t understand how hard you have to work, and how hopeless you can feel, when you try and fail to do what they do so easily. Things are harder for you. They really are. And if those people had to deal with your problems, they wouldn’t be doing any better.
You’re not lazy. You’re not weak. You’re fighting hard. I guess I just want you to know that I know that.
agree with every reblog above but i dont like those owls
Not crazy about people writing off the Titan submersible incident as some schadenfreudic buzzstory they can rag on for a handful of internet funny points. I get the frustration, I really do. At least three of the passengers had to shell out $250,000 a ticket for a glorified deep sea Disney ride. The CEO of OceanGate is a capitalist wackjob who has been complaining about and bypassing safety regulations for years, despite multiple warnings, and now the retrieval is taking up time and resources from multiple countries that could have been put to better use. But one of the crew members on board was also the nineteen year old son of another passenger. I doubt his involvement extended much beyond “I’m going on a fun trip with my dad.” Another was an unaffiliated researcher who joined the expedition to collect environmental samples for DNA analysis. Not everyone on board was a high-rolling corporate yuppie. (And even if they were, it’s still a pretty objectively horrific way to die.) Instead of memes, I’d rather see this prompt a discussion on the ethics and potential regulation of scientific tourism.
The above also doesn’t change the fact that this is dragging media attention away from more pressing issues, such as the sinking of the Andriana. I guess “THE TITANIC CLAIMS ANOTHER FIVE VICTIMS” is a more colorful headline than “the EU’s xenophobic migration policies have led to the deaths of hundreds of migrants seeking asylum in Italy, and an active cover up is now taking place, headed by Greek authorities.” Seeing all this energy be funneled towards dragging this tiny capsule out of the Atlantic when up to five hundred refugees - mostly women and children - were locked in the hull of a ship and left to suffer the exact same fate, while Coast Guard vessels looked on and did nothing (or even had an active role in the capsize after a botched attempt to tow it, according to some testimonies), illustrates the sway money and race have in what we pay attention to. It’s a gruesome example of inequity in action.
I had compared what happened to the Titan to the Kursk incident, but the Andriana doesn’t have the luxury of being a freak accident. Over 25,000 migrants have disappeared or drowned trying to cross the Mediterranean since 2014, with over 2,000 deaths taking place in 2022 alone. Those are staggering numbers. Protests have broken out across Greece over the past week in the wake of the tragedy, advocating for migration reform.
While these sorts of mass casualty events tend to leave us feeling disheartened and helpless, there are ways to help. Below is a link to SOS Humanity’s donation page. Reputable search and rescue organizations such as SOS Humanity or SOS Mediterranée built their mission statements around helping migrants like the ones on board the Andriana. Donate if you can, spread the word if you can’t.
I really need to talk for a minute about this new mobile update and how much I as a legally blind person hate whatever the hell is going on with the photos and how it's making this app nearly impossible for me to use
I'm not sure the same thing is happening on the desktop version but for those who may not know in the app whenever you tap on a photo it used to just pop up and you could double tap to enlarge it and zoom in and scroll around and all was great.
A double tap now likes the photo and it must be pinched and pulled to zoom in and out. A mild annoyance, and nothing compared to the rest of the update. If you scroll up, which I do frequently when trying to navigate an enlarged photo, it will send you to ANOTHER photo based on the tags of the post.
That's right, a completely different photo!!! A feature no one asked for and no one wants!! This isn't facebook, or instagram, and maybe tiktok but I never had that so this is a guess. When I click on the photo I only want to see that photo (or in the case of multiple photos in a post I want to be able to easily scroll side to side for those). I do not want to be taken to another post!!! Also if you scroll too far to the left you are then sent to the profile of the person who reblogged the post. I do not know why. Who wants this feature? Is it a feature at all?
As someone who only taps on a photo because I cannot see it and I need to enlarge it, this is beyond a simple annoyance. I cannot navigate the photo like I need, there's a hair trigger on whether it sends you to a new post completely or if you are sent to the profile of the reblogger. Neither, again, are things I want. this leaves me having to back track a lot, re-zoom the photo as it reverts back to normal, and hope dearly that this time I can just read the damned text before it freaks out again.
I haven't seen anyone else talk about this outside of the tags, but really this is making the app unusable for me, and I'm sure for many others.
@staff I know you guys haven't cared about your disabled community much in the past (other photo updates that stopped allowing me to zoom into gifs is proof of that) but please don't make this app unusable for me. I would rather not have to leave.
I hate this update as an artist (and art enjoyer!) too. A lot of art is MEANT to be zoomed in on, panned over, pushed around, and generally enjoyed for more than a glance.
Tumblr's ability to zoom and pan on images (as well as accept any image ratio) is what set it not just apart, but above, Instagram as an art platform.
People are planning a Tumblr blackout on June 30th in order to demand the reversal of this change among other demands. So hopefully something will come of that. The scrolling to a new image is so frustrating and confusing for no reason @staff get it together
Heard some important information on Twitter today, and thought I’d post it here for anyone who may not have heard it. This is actually a thing, devised by human rights organisation called Karma Nirvana.

quick health promotion aside for UK followers from my own knowledge and experience
- if you are in the UK we now use gardasil 9 (note we started using this one with a 2 dose regimen last year, it is OK to have this vaccine as your second or third dose if you had gardasil 4 or older for your other dose/s). Gardasil 9 only needs 2 doses as her UKHSA recommendations.
- You are eligible to have this at your GP up to your 25th birthday. If you are MSM or transgender (of any description), you can have this vaccine at a sexual health clinic up to and including the age of 45.
- If you're not sure if you're vaccinated, ask your GP for your vaccination records, they're yours and you are allowed access without charge (dependent on how good your GP is at keeping records/if you moved between England Scotland and/or Wales, or if you had vaccines privately or at school, they may be incomplete however)
- If you are >=25 and not sure if you're eligible, book in at a sexual health clinic to discuss.
- If all else fails you can still have it privately at pharmacies and other private clinics though of course this is out of pocket and tends to be very expensive - so exhaust all other options first.
- It is not worth messing about, please do everything you can to prevent cervical, orophayngeal and anogential cancers caused by hpv - including getting smears Even If You're Vaccinated if you are eligible (again on the NHS if you have female on your record you will be invited aged 24 and a half onwards automatically, if you have male but you have a cervix you may have to specifically ask for it)

Free Trans Resources public spreadsheet
Please reblog!
As promised in the comments of the binder master list, I'm now compiling a more all-encompassing free resource public spreadsheet! So far I've got resources for binders, packers, STP devices, gaffs/tucking underwear, gender-affirming clothing, some DIY gender-affirming gear, and some resources on how to clean that gear and how to clean up makeup spills. I'll try to keep expanding things, and feel free to request a type of resource or a specific location in the comments or in an ask! (I can't promise I'll be able to find anything, but I'll do my best! <3)
The spreadsheet is called "Study sheet" to make it more inconspicuous in case someone you'd rather didn't catches a glimpse of the title. Do please note that once you're on the spreadsheet it is very obvious what the content is, so only view it when it's safe for you to do so! <3
(Also here's a post I made of spreadsheets with the same resources but under different names)
Before you click on the link to the spreadsheet:
Some links to videos on how to conceal and delete your history for those who need it (blue text indicates a link)
- How to Clear your Youtube watch history (kinda loud at the start and actual info starts at about 1:33
- How to Remove Shared Files from Google Drive
- how to activate incognito mode on an Iphone , on an Android phone and on chrome on a computer.
- And How to delete your Google activity history
Remember to delete your Youtube history after watching!
*Edit* I've added a new section for miscellaneous resource requests to serve as a semi-temporary place for more niche topics that I get resource requests for. If I get more requests for them or find more resources related to the topic I'll make a new separate section for them, but otherwise they can just stay there.
Remember: y'all can comment, tag, or if you want/need it to be more discreet you can send me an anonymous ask. I may not be able to find what you want, but I won't judge you <3

Crisis line:
as a bi person, the bisexual flag brings me infinite joy and always puts a smile on my face, however as a person who has a Passion for Graphic Design, that undersaturated shade of purple infuriates me when it's used digitally
like, on an actual flag - which was its original purpose - it looks great!
those look fine! lovely, even! with the semi-transparent fabric, the way it catches the sunlight, it looks beautiful!
but now look at how it looks digitally
the pink and blue are so vibrant compared to the sad, lonely lavender!
and let's look at this statement from Michael Page, the creator of the bi flag:
(sidenote: he created this flag in 1998, so if his takes on bisexuality is different from yours, it's okay to notice that! a lot has changed since the 90s when it comes to lived experiences and the way we describe them. but, it's also important to respect his thoughts about this and the way he presented them, even if today, we'd probably not say that bi people "blend unnoticeably into both the gay/lesbian and straight communities.")
so in pantone colors, the pink is 226 C, the blue is 286 C, and the purple of the flag is 258 C.
but...here's the deal
Michael talks here about how the key to understanding the symbolism is to know that the purple blends into both the pink and blue. and on a physical flag, I think you can see that!
but digitally, it absolutely does not blend. it clashes badly, and looks oddly separate from the other two colors.
which got me wondering...what purple do you get if you actually blend 226 C and 286 C?
oh! oh, my god.
look at that! look at how nicely it fits between those colors!
look at it next to the original color scheme! look at how much more vibrant the purple is!
and friends. this is just blending through rgb! you get even more purple variations when you use other color spaces!
let's compare all of them:
(top: original, lab. middle: lrgb, lch. bottom: rgb, hsl)
look at all of the different purple options you can get just by combining these two colors!
if you want almost too-vibrant saturation, you can go hsl, if you want something more relaxed that's closer to the original, you can go lab or lrgb. and if you want to split the difference, lch is bright and violet, while rgb is there with its saturated but darker purple.
anyway, I guess I don't really have a point here? this isn't so much an informational post as it is Me Getting Weird About Colors, but I think it is a useful lesson about how colors look very different on screens compared to how they look on objects in real life.
and sometimes, I think it's okay to compensate for that.
out of all of these, this is my favorite bi flag:
it's the one where the colors were blended in lab color space. for me, the lighter, softer purple is close enough to the original bi flag purple, while also feeling like a smoother blend of the blue and pink
but that's just me! and it might not even look the same to you, since every screen is different, because technology is a nightmare!
anyway, thank you for coming with me on this colorful journey! I will now retreat back to inkscape and make pained sounds about inkstitch gradients until something tangible pulls me back into reality
The first PRIDE was a riot
Stormé Delariverie, the first woman pictured is a mixed Black butch lesbian who was dressed in drag that night because she had just finished performing as a Drag King at the The Apollo and Radio City Hall. She's literally referred to as the "Rosa parks of the gay community." Not trans but certainly a gnc black lesbian.
Sylvia Rivera, who has admitted to throwing the 2nd Molotov was a Puerto Rican/venezuelan trans woman, she's pictured last holding the banner with the bob cut.
Rivera is standing beside the beautiful and always smiling Marsha P. Johnson. She was another Black trans woman who pioneered the movement. She was at so many protests and queer events that I couldn't pick a photo!!!
On August 5, 1961, four party-going sailors entered Black Nite, a popular St. Paul Avenue gay bar in Milwaukee, on a dare. They started a fight with the bouncer, only to be chased out of the bar by gender-nonconforming Black “queen” Josie Carter, who knocked one of the men unconscious with a bottle. It's the first recorded LGBT uprising.
One day in 1966, an officer placed his hand on a trans woman at Compton’s—she responded by throwing her cup of coffee in his face. A riot erupted as dozens of trans people, drag queens and gay men fought the police. They broke windows, destroyed a police car, and set a newsstand on fire. Drag queens hit police with heavy purses. In the end, however, police arrested the women.
The 'Flower Power' Protest. The Patch was an LGBTQ bar in Wilmington owned and managed by Lee Glaze. Glaze had a secret signal—he’d play “God Save the Queen” on the jukebox—to announce that police officers were entering the bar, allowing patrons time to comply with the discriminatory laws. On August 17, 1968, undercover cops left the bar and returned with several uniformed officers for backup, though it’s unclear what prompted this action. They fanned out and began to screen the crowd, looking for IDs that didn’t “match” the holder’s outward appearance.
He marched everyone to buy flowers and then they waited at the police station for the two to get out.
There are cis white people in these photos because the trans people were in jail. This is them standing in SOLIDARITY for their GNC community.
You DO owe Stonewall to POC and trans people and drag queens and drag kings and GNC people, whether you like it or not.
I hope nobody ever feels comfortable saying this ignorant ass shit to me again.
Voo Doo, a German trans woman cabaret owner and performer with her beloved boa. (Date unclear: likely 1912-1928.) [source]
This is a self portrait she made, if anyone's seen this before.
cis man with gynecomastia scars: hi
the smartest transphobes in the world: kys tranny
and people wonder why I say that transphobia is a danger to everyone.
I wish I was fucking joking
but sure "we can always tell" crowd telling a cis man to kill himself because they think he's trans. that totally normal behavior. terfs are totally just normal average members of society who want what's best for everyone. they totally aren't genocidal fascists who want to kill everyone who disagrees with them or anyone they simply don't like.
Most of the “anti British memes” are just classism anti poor memes cause you ever noticed the but the of jokes are always accent’s associated with working class brits
Whenever the rich brits are mentioned it’s always in a positive manner like “ooo it’s such a cool dark academy vibe” or “oh I love there accents so formal and polite”
Like your not anti British your just classist
not just accents, but everything associated with the difference in lifestyle.
poshness is lightly mocked, but stately homes and aristocratic heritage are "cool and quirky" and desired (particularly by people in the US)
while council flats, "rough manners", and cheap staple foods are targeted over and over. and more that I'm forgetting.
Exactly 100%
