I find that many people have this sort of learned helplessness/doomer attitude. Particularly the more privileged. Amidst the Kirk incident of today, ive seen many people, Particularly of liberal mind, to have this sort of agonized scared reaction. Like "nooo the conservatives are gonna use this to justify killing us all were FUCKED!"

Not only is it somewhat unrealistic, it seems they see no opportunity to take advantage of situations. They toss and turn because of things they feel like will happen, like a so-called "civil war". But they care not for how they can seize this chance to do any good. They just cry because they will die. And its mostly white people who are like this. Its a strange contradiction.

Have a spine. Its not as doomed as you feel like it is. With some will power, now is a great time to be proactive. There are books to read and orgs to join. Why fear what may happen when you can make things happen?

You ever have an art idea stuck in your head for years but never really had the skills to create it? Well this was that piece for me. I finally got there. This is my favorite illustration of 2025 and I call it Lazy River.

.

This piece is inspired by the online aesthetic of the pool rooms combined with vaporwave and abandoned mall themes. It represents the highs and lows experienced during the art journey. It also represents the loneliness it can have. It is a brilliant shining loneliness though. I think every artist is incredibly brave to venture into this unknown territory that is often undervalued by society.

Since I can feel it coming, no this is not AI. I did not even use AI as a reference and I’m proud to say I never do. I only use things made by other humans or things in my real life as inspiration. If you reached the end I just want to say thank you. It means the world to me 🩷🩵💜

some time last year in a daze i signed up to be a community notes contributor on twitter, and i have not used this ability once in any meaningful sense, but i do appreciate that it sometimes provides me with exclusive advance previews of muppet discourse

  • Car Trunk vs Car Boot: A clear win for US English, trunk was already a thing in which you stored items, frequently for transport.
  • Crisps vs Chips: I gotta admit, the Brits have this one. They're thin slices of potato that have been made crispy. No chipping of any materials involved.
  • Car Park vs Parking Lot: Equally matched. What's a car park? A place to park cars. What's a parking lot? An otherwise empty lot where you can park.
  • Elevator vs Lift: Both equally fail to address that the damn thing also goes down.
