finally also made an insta

hi guys, just wanted to let you know that after a bit of fighting with the facebook/insta account set-up, I’ve figured out how to set up a business account so I can finally draft & schedule posts on instagram as well, the main thing that was keeping me from also posting on insta all these years.

so I’ve made the instagram @nature__hiking, and started posting there. for now I’m just posting what I think are the best/better shots from my existing catalogue. so far I’ve been uploading 2015-2018 shots, eventually the insta will catch up to the tumblr, as I will only be posting the highlights on insta, and tumblr will remain the place where I post everything.

(and yes one of the reasons is that even with a fb/insta business account, the tumblr ui is still much more user friendly for mass drafting and scheduling of posts, nevermind the fact that insta still won’t allow you to post full sized vertical pics)

so if you’re relatively new to my page and haven’t gone through my backlog of photos, sometimes miss my posts because you follow too many people on tumblr, scroll on insta more often than tumblr, or any other reason, you’re more than welcome at my instagram now too :).

p.s. the insta is also linked on my tumblr page if you click the menu at the top left corner.

In case anyone wants to follow it for "live"ish updates from my pacific crest trail hike. I made an instagram for that :). nature_hiking_on_the_pct

The reason I made an instagram for that vs posting here is that more of the people I know irl have an instagram.

It'll have quick edits of some of the photos I'm taking on the trail. Mostly of photos that don't need that much editing. Eventually I'll post proper edits of all the photos I like on here ofc. But that'll have to wait until after I get back from the pct probably.

leaving for the pacific crest trail

hi everyone,

I’m leaving to hike the PCT soon, as well as a 100 mile run in auburn, CA at the end of april, another 100 mile in late september in Nice, and a 100km in Korea in october.

while I had originally planned to make a massive queue to keep posting while I’m away, life got in the way of things, causing me to graduate my masters about half a year later than planned. that left me low on time to prep everything for the trips, let alone for a queue that massive.

this means that I’ll be mostly inactive until october, though I will try and schedule some posts here and there, as I find time and internet reception over the coming months. let’s think of it this way: six months of hiking will mean I have a ton of new photos to post when I get back ;)
