i know i haven’t been online much here, but i just had to come here after the whole yoongi’s situation on twitter.

i know yoongi’s issue can wait, taking in all of the events that has been happening, but i just cannot let this slip.

the way some of the “armys” were quick to throw yoongi under the bus, really surprised me.

if you don’t know what has been going on, apparently yoongi sampled Jim Jones in his “what do you think” song. this is where “armys” were really quick to react and throw yoongi under the bus.

please, don’t start educating yoongi when you cannot educate yourself.

This is one of the bigger tweets; now let’s see the problem.

Jim jones was highly anti-Korean as well as anti-black, terrible person. An american man.

“what do you think” is a song highlighting yoongi’s success as a korean.

The sample is used to criticize, western space, the song mocks the fact that westerners think less of foreign and non-white artists.

The inclusion of the sample is him comparing racist westerners to jim jones.

The context is so fucking important and the way some part of the fandom didn’t have an ounce of trust in yoongi and just brushed him off in a matter of seconds reading rumours, just digust me.

bts and armys have some of the most amazing connection between a fandom and artist, don’t take it for granted and don’t call yourself army.

when it comes to things like that, please educate yourself instead of jumping to conclusions.
