From Star vs. the Forces of Evil - Spider with a Top Hat.

One of the many great things about video game music from the 80s and 90s is its heart-on-its-sleeve catchiness. Live and die by the hummableness of the main tune, and then build sounds and beats around it that further its ear worm status.

Verdict is out as to whether I succeeded for this episode (I am no Koji Kondo, that’s for sure), but it sure is fun to write this stuff.

Star and Marco canonically have a movie night snuggled up on the couch every Thursday. What a time to be alive.

Celena - “Selene” means “moon” in greek. Crescent moons covered fan and wand, she hides her cheeks. Star calls her “great great grandma”. Are all those people suitors, or people trying to make her spill out her cosmic secrets? Her wand is either hidden behind the fan, or part of the fan itself.

Eclipsa - another name that’s related to the moon. Given her name, and given Star’s name, it’s easy to think that she might become an obstacle for our beloved blonde princess. Even if, maybe, she’s already dead. She has something to do with Toffee for sure (her and his faces flashes when Star grabs the finger) and might very well be his mother. Her wand is an umbrella, looking somewhat like Celena’s one (same crystal, a crescent moon)

Solaria - Sol, “sun”. Not a moon based name, but a star based one. She became a hero when Mewni’s castle got “stormed”, just like Star stormed Ludo’s one. Her marks are lightning, but all over her armor and insignia hearts can be see. Easy to make a connection with Star. He wand is a flaming sword.

Moon - She used a “dark spell”, not just a powerful one, to stop an immortal monster who is likely related to her (be it step brother, or cousing, or something else)

Unnamed Queen - greek looking… while the Castle is the same as always. Her wand is a goblet.

Unnamed Queen 2 - very Sailor Mewnish. Her marks might be bunny shaped (Sailor Moon’s name in Japanese means “rabbit”), just like Mina’s earrings. Her wand is very anime-magical girl looking.
