Saw THE LITTLE MERMAID...
The Little Mermaid is very entertaining. Lots of clapping and laughing during the screening I attended. Ariel and Prince Eric have good chem. Special shout out too to Sebastian and Flounder actors re: their line deliveries. 🤩
I enjoyed the extra touches with expanding on the interaction between Ariel & Prince Eric. (Halle Bailey & Jonah Hauer-King have fantastic chemistry 😍) Like, the map reading scene was lovely as were the village scenes. ‘Kiss The Girl’ was done well too. The supporting cast is good too! I wasn’t initially sold on Melissa McCarthy (I wanted Queen Latifah) but she was really enjoyable as Ursula.

I adore flirty, lighthearted Kory but I especially like seeing Dick being so smiley + happy as he’s usually so stoic. They’re just radiating so much joy at this point. 😍 The red balloon was a nice touch as it obviously made them both think about their future daughter.

Forever thinking about how, on election day in 2016, I wore a shirt with an American flag on it because it was what was clean. And the 20-ish year old bagging my groceries made a snide remark about it, followed by 'I didn't vote, they're all the same anyways.' And a fellow grocery worker chimed in agreement that he wasn't voting for the same reason.
And now I can't go to a local drag event without having to walk through a gauntlet of nazis.
I realize that the election is a year and a half away, but please don't fall for the 'they're the same' rhetoric this time around. Both candidates will suck, but they'll suck in different ways and one of them wants my community dead.
Don't let perfect be the enemy of good.
