More fuel for my massive beef with "vinegar makes things cleaner!" people.

Nah like. Vinegar isn't actually bad as a cleaning agent, it's just that table vinegar is about half as concentrated as cleaning vinegar. It's a passable solvent when it comes to oil and grease compared to just water (unless you're working with steam, which most people aren't equipped to do) so the trick cleaning with vinegar is 1. use concentrated vinegar if possible, 2. give it time to break up grease and oils, and 3. a little scrubbing, maybe using salt as grit. The guy here's 100% correct that adding baking soda to vinegar is directly counterproductive, but I don't think he's arguing that vinegar can't clean anything. He's also right that soap is straight up better, but it works differently, it's a surfactant rather than a solvent

When you pick up a sword for the first time you will be slow and awkward. This is frustrating, but refuse the temptation to try and become a “faster” fencer. Chasing after speed is like trying to catch smoke. If you try and pursue speed, all you will accomplish is haste. Haste is the enemy of 1st class fencing.

Speed is a lie the untrained mind tells itself when it sees an action it cannot follow. The truth is a combination of timing, control, and fluidity. Fluid motion, even done slowly, will always arrive before a hasty strike. Control will allow you to move without wasteful motion that will slow you down. Timing will eliminate the need to move fast almost entirely. There is no need to get somewhere fast so long as you get there at the right time.

The conventional definition of fascism describes it as a rupturious event. Fascism in this view is an aberration from the legacy of bourgeois liberal democracy defined by its overthrow. In this event-rupture based definition of fascism the fascist movement is not analyzed as a class collaborationist coalition led by a dictatorship of monopoly and finance capital seeking to restore capitalist-imperialism but as a violent event that deviates from the preexisting society. This analysis obfuscates the capitalist interests of the fascists and the relationship between the pre-fascist society and the fascist movement. Fascism does not invent anything new. It speaks the language of that society’s already existing racism and nationalism. Fascism therefore is not a rupture but a continuation of the legacy of bourgeois democracy’s reliance on racism. It is a transition between one mode of bourgeois rule to another. Fascism instead of describing a particular point in time is a process which unfolds and develops over time. The event-rupture based definition of fascism does not see the seamless transition between the pre-fascist society and the fascist one. This is why a process-continuity definition of fascism is needed.

Fascism is a reconstitution of the economic base and superstructure. In response to a faltering capitalism the fascists strengthen the rule of property rights, monopoly and finance capital. They crush unions and the revolutionary organizations of the proletariat. They ban the progressive and liberal parties. They institute fascist propaganda at all levels of society including education and youth camps. Reactionary nationalism is systematized culturally. By reconstituting the base and superstructure fascism hopes to resolve the contradictions of a failing capitalism.

Fascism is a counterinsurgency tactic. Repression of the revolutionary working class is a primary goal of the fascist regime. Fascism is a counter-revolution against both the minimal reforms of liberal bourgeois democracy and the demands of the revolutionary working class. Fascism rejects any concession to the working and oppressed masses as a communist plot to destroy the white race and western civilization. This is why fascism is useful to the bourgeoisie, it favors capital over labor and represses the revolutionary organizations of the proletariat. But that also explains its “revolutionary” character, as the section of the bourgeoisie which compromises with labor and the oppressed masses is also an enemy to the fascists. Thus fascism is at war with the parts of the bourgeois state which do not express the total supremacy of capital over labor and the total supremacy of the master race over the enemy races. Yet fascism also upholds the sections of the bourgeois state which engages in counterinsurgency towards the proletariat.

Cory Lee has visited 40 countries on seven continents, and yet the Georgia native has never explored Cloudland Canyon State Park, about 20 minutes from his home. His wheelchair was tough enough for the trip to Antarctica but not for the rugged terrain in his backyard.

Lee’s circumstances changed Friday, when Georgia’s Department of Natural Resources and the Aimee Copeland Foundation unveiled a fleet of all-terrain power wheelchairs for rent at 11 state parks and outdoorsy destinations, including Cloudland Canyon. The Action Trackchair models are equipped with tank-like tracks capable of traversing rocks, roots, streams and sand; clearing fallen trees; plowing through tall grass and tackling uphill climbs.

“I’ll finally be able to go on these trails for the first time in my life,” said the 32-year-old travel blogger, who shares his adventures on Curb Free with Cory Lee. “The trails are off-limits in my regular wheelchair.”

Georgia is one of the latest states to provide the Land Rover of wheelchairs to outdoor enthusiasts with mobility issues.

In 2017, Colorado Parks and Wildlife launched its Staunton State Park Track-Chair Program, which provides free adaptive equipment, though guests must pay the $10 entrance fee. Michigan’s Department of Natural Resources has placed off-road track chairs in nearly a dozen parks, including Muskegon State Park. In 2018, Lee reserved a chair at the park that boasts three miles of shoreline on Lake Michigan and Muskegon Lake. “It allowed me to have so much independence on the sand,” he said.
