river jude phoenix.
happy birthday, river jude. to the boy who made me question who i am in this world, who i want to be. to the boy who made me feel confident standing up for what’s right. to the boy who taught me and introduced me to so many things. to the boy who made me love art.
he was so human. no saint, no devil. he was a pure human boy, who’s unique ways separated him from the others, even when he didn’t want to be separated. humble, kind, generous, talented, humorous.
truly the worlds most beautiful boy.
he’s brought me such guidance. there are days where i’ve just felt him. i don’t even know how to explain it.
to the boy who treated everyone as equals. to the boy who stood up for those who couldn’t stand up for themselves. to the boy who opened minds and answered questions and made things comfortable, even when the rest of the world neglected those things.
to the boy who’s soul was pure ethereal. who’s music is so sweet, who’s theatrics are so touching, you can feel him.
happy birthday.

I’ve been brought so much comfort from River in the last year of my life. It’s weird to think I’ve been a fan of his for only a year, yet I’ve known of him my whole life.
I decided to post this on my main because River just means too much to me not to.
For those of you who don’t know him, look him up, watch his interviews, his movies, listen to his songs. He’s the most talented actor to ever exist, the most poetic song writer, the most beautiful and real human being I’ve ever heard of.
I can’t describe it.
River in so many ways changed me for the better. He changed this world for the better. Not only with his talents, but with his activism, for women, poc, lgbtq+, animals, our planet. we still need work on all these things. But River set us on the track to do these things, to make these things right. I want to do that for not only him, but for myself, and for the future of our planet. We owe it to our Mother Earth.
Conserve. Protect. Care. Love.

and so the river jude runs
and trickles down hill
down mountains and canyons
downtown, and now still.
a boy of the roots of the world’s heartiest tree
a boy of the art that our mother’s will leave
our mother’s earth
our new responsibility
our hearts must grow
to contain this large capacity
and the river jude flows
through these things we do.
and the river jude guides us, shows us
what to do.
the river jude dances
in its place in the bay
the river jude shys,
away from the rest
the river jude taught us
what he knew was best.
he runs through it all.

”At one time, most of my friends could hear the bell. But as years passed, it fell silent for all of them.Even Sarah found, one Christmas, that she could no longer hear its sweet sound. Though I’ve grown old the bell still rings for me. As it does for all who truly believe.”
