For those of you wondering what the Swift rule is, every time Taylor releases an album, Corinthians (one of the big soccer teams in Brazil) doesn’t lose the previous and upcoming game. Like, never. And this weekend they were going to play the currently best team in Brazil, and regional rival. The other team was on a winning streak, but the swift rule is unbeatable.

But it doesn’t stop there!! People really believe taylor is some kind of patron saint of Corinthians, not only the Swift rule is definitely a thing, but Corinthians had never won a national championship while Taylor wasn’t born, first time was in 1990. And there is more, back in the day we still had playoffs for the main championship, and guess when was the final that crowned Corinthians champion? December 13th.

To think that Lexa’s always been Clarke’s most fervent supporter. Her most devoted champion - her sword and shield (both literally and figuratively) and the only one who understood Clarke wholeheartedly, who gave without asking anything in return.

The only one who placed Clarke first, who had faith in her judgement but wisely challenged her decisions. The only one who encouraged Clarke to flourish and  was proud of her every step of the way. The only one who didn’t try to diminish Clarke but constantly elevated her: in thoughts, words and actions. And Lexa did that selflessly, unrelentingly and devotedly.

It kills me how Lexa is so viciously gentle with Clarke, so attuned to her very heart. Lexa IS the embodiment of LOVE at its purest and strongest, despite being taught to be ruthless and cold, despite her very culture demanding she become the deadliest weapon used to conquer and submit. Instead, she forged herself into one that safeguards and defends.

Lexa is peace in a lifetime of war. She’s a summer that no winter can vanquish. She’s comfort in a perpetual state of anguish. Lexa’s the haven of a besieged fortress whose walls stand tall, even as constantly under threat by those who would see her sacked and plundered. She’s a balm that soothes, comforts and heals.

And Clarke got be on the receiving end of all that Lexa was and stood for.

The only cure for that? Just more. More Lexa. Always more Lexa. There’s no going back. Once you felt love in all its greatness you could never settle for anything else, could never do with less.

What if the reason they lose their immortality in The Old Guard is because they’ve given up hope and they can’t see the good they’re doing? This is based solely on my interpretation of Andy’s character but whenever Lykon said “it is my time” as he was dying, it made me think that maybe he was ready for it to be his time.

Nicky and Joe are never ready because they have each other. And even though Booker thinks he’s ready, he isn’t prepared to face mortality. We see that when Andy isn’t healing. He’d literally betrayed them for the chance to end their immortality but then when it actually seemed to be happening to Andy, he panicked. He wasn’t ready.

Quynh spent 500 years drowning and coming back in her prison and still didn’t die. And that seems like every reason to beg for mortality, except that she was holding on to something. Maybe it was anger, maybe it was grief or longing or simply needing to know Andy’s fate and why she never saved her, but I believe Quynh wasn’t ready yet either.

But Andy says “Let the world burn for all I care.” She doesn’t want to find Nile, she doesn’t want to deal with any of the things she’d been doing for the last several millennia, she was done. And that’s when she stopped healing.

She vowed to rescue Nicky and Joe, no matter what. She’d accepted that she was likely dying, finally. But she had one final mission and that was to save them, which she did.

And then, when it was all over and she finally saw everything that had happened as a result of her actions, all the good that she’d made possible, maybe that changed something. Maybe that renewed her dedication to change the world for the better, to fight for what she believes is right. Maybe meeting Nile and seeing her come back for them and fight and protect her and her friends, maybe that changed Andy’s perspective of her immortality and the life she’d been given.

And at the end, she says “Have a little faith” to Booker when he says he won’t see her again. She’s no longer convinced she’s going to die because she has a reason to live again.
