I am Untitled because I'm still trying to figure out Who I Am...

@mysuperlexy43vr-aka-weirdo

This is part of my old Tumblr blog, that I lost part of because of my stupid mistakes of the email. Smh Anyways, this new blog is based of my life and what fandoms I belong to and what I love here on Tumblr :) I'm also, Canadian, in my twenties, weird,...

Basic rules for analysing fiction, an incomprehensive list jotted down in a hurry:

  1. The protagonist isn’t always right
  2. The protagonist isn’t always good
  3. The protagonist isn’t always written to be relatable or likeable
  4. The narrator isn’t always right
  5. The narrator isn’t always good
  6. The narrator isn’t always telling the truth
  7. The narrator isn’t always the author
  8. The protagonist’s moral compass, the narrator’s moral compass and the author’s moral compass are three entirely different things that only occasionally overlap
  9. Pay attention to what characters do and not just what they say
  10. Pay special attention when what the characters do is at odds with what they say
  11. A lot of the time the curtains are blue for a reason. If they aren’t, you should read better books

One more:

12. The antagonist isn’t always telling the truth

So many times I have seen people apparently just … forget that it’s possible for fictional characters to be (a) mistaken or (b) lying, and say things like “we know this to be true because [character] said so here” (or, worse, “this fact is canon because [character] said it”).

The antagonist isn’t always telling the truth, the protagonist isn’t always telling the truth, the secondary and minor characters aren’t always telling the truth, the narrator may be telling the truth but if the narrator is also a character in the story then don’t count on it.

Instead of asking yourself if you “really need” an accommodation or disability aid, try to reframe this and ask yourself “will it help me or make things easier for me in any way?”

Think about whether it would improve your quality of life, or lessen your pain or just make things a little easier for you.

Just because you can get by without something doesn’t mean you should have to. You don’t need to be in the most dire need to make use of aids or accommodations. If they make things better for you in any way, you deserve that.

youth have a right to be educated about the world regardless of what their parents/caretakers believe. youth have a right to learn accurate information about the world for themselves, including information that allows them to disagree with their parents/caretakers. we have got to destroy this mindset that everyone under 18 is essentially sentient playdough for parents to mold however they want and its violating "parent's rights" to allow their children to be educated on basic facts of the world (like that queer people exist or that america is founded on genocide) because it would mean they lose the slightest bit of control over their child's reality. imo schools have a moral responsibility to protect youth's right to knowledge and freedom of thought over their parent's "right" to control everything they know. your children should be allowed to fucking disagree with you, and restricting their access to knowledge in order to prevent that is abuse.

ten years later still get shook

The universal urge--young and old--to pretend you're the one conducting

Something about the fact Covid is being talked about like a common cold now is horrifying to me.

"Oh yeah I got covid again, gonna be resting for a week or so"

"Coworkers came in sick again, now I've got covid. Oh well, whatcha gonna do"

Its normal now. The new strains, the repeated catching, the fact its no longer a pandemic and is now a part of our daily lives.

A deadly disease that can and does permanently disable people who catch it is being treated like an inconvenient stomach bug.

And it was avoidable.

People are dying and being disabled in fucking droves and all anyone can say is "whelp, that's how it goes!" As if there wasn't/aren't vaccines, as if there wasn't/aren't methods that can help (masking, social distancing, etc), as if other places who took it more seriously didn't have better survival rates.

This outcome wasn't a guarantee. Selfish, ableist, racist, conspiracy loving ass-hats made sure it happened.

Looking at the numbers and then talking to people who didn't want to mildly inconvenience themselves to save lives is horrific.

Millions died.

Millions more will follow.

Thousands were disabled by it.

Thousands will follow.

And it. Was all. AVOIDABLE.

It's still preventable, but no one else wants to do it. So here I am, out here still masking, avoiding large groups of people, getting deliveries, etc 😑

This is true I think, everyone just has very normal and even-minded thoughts and opinions about transfeminine sexuality

No honestly I think it's REALLY important that people see this. Literally the exact same post, sans trans people, and it didn't get flagged.

hey remember how tumblr *just* had to settle with NYC’s human rights commission for discriminating against LGBTQ people in your implementation of the NSFW ban? We do.
