I am Lokadís

@myriadhallauglokadis

Ok, if we’re reembracing the citrus fruits categories in this age of the puritanical overlords of tunglr, and @ifridiot is writing a fic that’s a Buddha’s Hand bc tentacles, like… where does that leave the rest of the odd citrus? Where is yuzu on this scale? Pomelo? Bergamot? fuckin’, Finger Limes!?

Someone tell me what a kumquat is. I want to write one but, like… how?

Avatar

THE SCALE IS THUS

Orange: They say I love you. Hug, maybe. A kiss might make people gasp.

Lime: It’s Implied Heavily That Sex Happens.

Finger Limes: It’s just above a fade-to-black; 3 paragraphs of a multichap fic detailing the sex

Lemon: You know Exactly what happened, and it was Sex.

Yuzu: Very Emotional Sex

Pomelo: The Sex Was Just Business (seduction for a spy job or prostitution with no hidden emotions;; it’s almost incidental)

Grapefruit: Kinky Sex Happened

Bergamont: Kinky Sex With Complicated Emotions

Buddha’s Hand: Now here you’ve got your hard kinks, your monster fucking, your tentacles, your xenophilia.

All ye young ones, gather around, and witness the rebirth of a GOD.

For if you cannot tag anything as not safe for work, you can most certainly insinuate its citrusy deliciousness.

Michelle Yeoh to star in new Section 31 series!

“I’m so excited to continue telling these rich ‘Star Trek’ stories,” said Michelle Yeoh. “Being a part of this universe and this character specifically has been such a joy for me to play. I can’t wait to see where it all goes – certainly I believe it will go ‘where no WOMAN has ever gone before!’”

Star Trek franchise head Alex Kurtzman, who will be an executive producer on the project, confirmed that the yet-to-be-titled Section 31 series will be led by showrunners Bo Yeun ‘Boey’ Kim and Erika Lippoldt, writing partners who have served as executive story editors and producers on Star Trek: Discovery.

1. Good for her, looking forward to it

2. When are you gonna call Tim Ransom hmhm?

Cool! I'm definitely down to Netflix and chill (literally, get your minds out of the gutter)

Excerpt from this Mother Nature Network story:

Welcome back, iguanas!

A group of more than 1,400 land iguanas (Conolophus subcristatus) were reintroduced to Santiago Island as part of an ecological restoration project at the National Galapagos Park in Ecuador, the park announced on Jan. 7. The iguanas came from North Seymour Island, another of the 18 islands that make up the Galapagos archipelago.
British naturalist Charles Darwin was the last person to officially see a land iguana on Santiago Island in 1835. Not long after, invasive predators like the feral pig wiped out the lizards.
“Almost two centuries later, this ecosystem will once again count on this species through the restoration initiative,” said the park authority, according to Agence France-Presse.
The reintroduction project started late in 2018 when park rangers captured iguanas and transferred them to Santa Cruz Island for health checks before moving them to Santiago Island. Rangers released the iguanas to coastal areas that have ecosystems similar to what they’re used to on North Seymour Island.
Starting in February, rangers will determine how well the iguanas are doing in their new home by seeing if they’re setting up nests and what plants the animals seem to favor, among other data points.
In addition to bringing back iguanas to the Galapagos, the move helps the iguanas survive as well. North Seymour Island experienced a loss of vegetation, particularly cactus, the primary source of food for iguanas on that island.

my hot take discourse is that discovery is the first and only trek to live up to the potential of “the cage” actually. S1 is the best trek so far. im super nervous about s2 and beardo spock but even if the rest of it goes off the rails at least we got one basically perfect season out of it

if Spock has that beard for depression purposes it’s good but otherwise I’m very concerned

I've got to say, it's really nice to hear someone liking Discovery -- as far as first season Star Trek shows go, this was basically a flawless delivery. Are there aspects of it that I don't like? Yes sure. But I'm honestly a little fed up with people whining about it. Also, Spock with a beard? Personally, I like.

dude Star Trek fans: why do women like cardassians so freaking much i don’t get it.
Women: we can relate to them on a deep and complex level
Women: *work in an office where the thermostat is set to 64F* this sucks

THIS SO MUCH. Gods. It's always too cold, constantly freezing until our fingers look grey -- why *wouldn't* we relate to them Space Lizards?

Yeah my mother would kill me if I used her fabric scissors to cut anything else…come to think of it, I threatened my husband for almost doing that too

God, imagine Julian carelessly using the fabric scissors and garden shears interchangeably…

Garak's revenge is using Julian's scalpels for whittling or something equally cruel and poetic.

Gentlebeings.

Go write that fic you think people will hate you for. Chances are I will want to read it. Not always, and certainly not exclusively, but sometimes I want to read fic that makes me feel uncomfortable. Sometimes I get tired of all the sanitised, morally pure, soft-washed, projected stuff out there.

It’s nice and easy, and predictable. I want that sometimes.

But I also want to feel disconcerted and slightly tense, because you didn’t pull your punches, because why-do-they-hurt-each-other-so-much, because that relationship really does not feel healthy, because that character is interesting for all the wrong reasons, and because that really should not have been erotic™.

Go ahead squick me.

First box from my ‘story box’ series is finished. I wish my camera didn’t blur it a bit but this is the best I can do. It looks nicer irl.

This is painted in acrylic upon the lid of the box. There are three nesting boxes all together. The set of three will tell a story through painting. My headcanon is that story boxes (nearly always in sets of three) were a common art/storytelling device used by the Nokarans. Not only are they beautiful and always have a tale to tell but they are practical and useful for storing trinkets.

Non-Boring Environments that need Fantasy Representation

Tropical Rainforests

Scrubland/Dry Forests. For extra effect make them the sort that burn very often; some native plants never germinate until after a fire, and some animals not only rely on fire to smoke out prey, but may even start them themselves.

Savannas/Tropical Grasslands

Temperate Rainforests. I almost didn’t include this bc New Zealand is covered in them, and that’s where they filmed Lord of the Rings. But tbh, no one really knows about them, so it belongs here

Taiga Forests

Barren Tundra, perfect for some extreme seasonal dichotomy

Polar Ice Sheets

Desert-Grasslands (arguably the same as Scrubland but Australia’s good at adding its own twists)

Barren Desert

If you like Cacti, look at American Deserts like the Sonoran

Salt Flats

Soda Lakes and Alkaline Lakes

Madagascar’s Karst Limestone Formations

Madagascar’s Spiny Forests

Madagascar’s Baobab Forests

Madagascar’s Subhumid Forests (Madagascar is cool as hell ok)

Danxia Landforms

Badlands/Mountainous Deserts

Steppes and Highland Prairies

Flood Basalts

Newly-Formed Islands, still rife with Volcanic activity

Now for Underwater Environments, sure Coral Reefs are cool.

But there are SO MANY other kinds of environments for aquatic settings, it’s unbelievable:

Seaside Cliffs

Archipelagos. Not just Tropical Island chains like Polynesia (Moana anyone?) but also Coldwater Archipelagos like the Aleutians.

Tidal Flats

Bayous/Cypress Swamps

Tropical River Basins, AKA Seasonally Flooded Rainforests

Mangrove Swamps/Deltas/Beaches

Kelp Forests

The Open Ocean

Coastal Seabeds

Rocky Beaches with Tidepools

And there are a LOT more I could name but this post is already obscenely long as is, if you’d like to toss in your own go right ahead, but my point is if you limit yourself to European Deciduous Forests you’re a wimp.

Tell the players the dungeon is in one of those places but when they get there it’s a European Deciduous Forest with a huge sheet of wallpaper draped over it.

Hoe hoe hoe

I’m horny

Do you like my package

Stuff my stocking

Jingle my bells

Deck my halls

Happy holidays!

With love–

Kelas.

Note from the artist- I couldn’t decide if I wanted tail or no tail so you have both. Feel free to color these if you like! (If you color them and post them pls tag or @ me so I can see :) Thanks!)

Also he’s holding mistletoe with his tail so does that make it mistletail instead?

Don’t kiss and tail.

@guljerry Colored your thing for you

Love the coloring @kissmeinkardasi!

omg I love it

He’s vaguely disappointed he’s that cute but no one’s bending him over that present :P

That's a sin! Someone do something about it, quick! 😅
