Weight is something that you can control. The other things you mention (race, gender identity, sexual orientation) are generally not something you can control.

hello. i'm not exactly new but have been mostly lurking here. figured i'd be time for a instruction.

My LGBT opinions are the following:

• you need any form/severity of dysphoria to be trans.

• asexuality means no attraction to anyone (including romantic attraction)

• there is no asexual spectrum

• mspec lesbians aren't valid.

• I agree with and believe in some non-binary gender identities such as agender, bigender and some more.

• i'm against xenogender because they make no sense and are harmful for the trans community and the lgbt community in general because it makes us seem like a joke.

• pansexual is biphobic and transphobic

I just saw someone say “yeah bisexuality means youre only attracted to men and women” im going to scream

bisexual means you’re attracted to both sexes 

which there are 2 of 

bisexuals are attracted to all genders since everyone is biologically either male, female, or somewhere between in the case of intersex

also like even if you wanna argue that “oh but what about homosexual? wouldnt that apply theyre attracted to the same sex? wouldnt that exclude trans people?” the point of transitioning is to develop the fucking secondary sex characteristics of the opposite sex

it is perfectly within fucking reason for a homosexual man to be attracted to a trans man because we fucking transition to have at least the secondary sex characteristics of men

even if you don’t personally date a trans person upon finding out theyre trans

you still have that capacity for attraction

Gee, Tumblr would probably really hate it if you shared and spread this damning article … To the surprise of absolutely none of Tumblr’s LGBTQ users, it turns out the independent NYC human rights agency Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) found that Tumblr’s ham-fisted adult content ban in December 2018 disproportionately targeted LGBTQ users. The CCHR’s investigation revealed Tumbler’s moderation algorithms is demonstrably biased against queer content. As part of the settlement, Tumblr was obligated to review their prejudicial anti-gay moderation policies. Even more mortifyingly, they’ve also had to hire an expert on sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) issues and provide unconscious bias training to their moderators. I frankly doubt Tumblr has learned a thing from this humbling experience. Just recently the Tumblr algorithm flagged three ancient posts of mine as violating their terms. All three “offenders” were vintage homoerotic beefcake images (softcore by modern standards) roughly 50 – 65-years-old by Bruce of Los Angeles, Bob Mizer and Tom of Finland. (These are of course pioneering queer artists who routinely faced censorship and imprisonment in the fifties and sixties. Plus ca change!). They've been visible on my page - corrupting viewers -  for years at this point. I appealed all three immediately. Only the Tom of Finland one was approved. The other two are now hidden. So, they haven't learned much. Apparently, Tumblr – who loves to declare how hip, youthful, inclusive and progressive their values are - wants to restore trust with their queer users. I’d recommend we remember their hypocrisy when Pride rolls around and Tumblr splashes rainbow flags everywhere and attempts to pink wash their image.

In honour of Pride Month, this is worth a reblog! Don’t buy into Tumblr’s hypocritical “pink washing.”

Evan Peters has never played Pietro Maximoff

He has been Peter Maximoff and Ralph Bohner

Peter Maximoff was really just Tommy Shepherd with an Americanized version of Pietro's name but his character matched more to Tommy Shepherd

Ralph Bohner seems like he was a one-off joke to get around not having Pietro in WandaVision.

Evan Peters is a great actor but he has never played Pietro in my opinion. I think his character in X-Men would have been much more successful if they had just done their research and named him Tommy Shepherd. I would've had zero problems with that because it felt like a true accurate portrayal of Speed.

Quicksilver, as a character, has been fucked over so many times with less than informed writing and I want people to know, I love Evan Peters. He's a great actor but character wise, he's never portrayed Pietro.

I have to wonder to what degree productions of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar and Antony and Cleopatra are responsible for that tradition, but I totally agree that I'd love to see films and shows about the Romans where the Romans actually sound Italian. I think it'd to a lot to humanize the Roman people and make them more relatable to audiences.

It's in the same way that I appreciate how none of the characters in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey sound British.

Aaaah sadly, @meowmeowuchiha​, it never ends there.

This has happened multiple times before.

They start off saying ‘oh we just want to ban the gross pedo shit :)’, which a lot of people can agree with.

And then they ban the underage stuff which is specifically talking about trauma and recovery.

And then they ban the noncon stuff, regardless of how it’s depicted.

And then they ban consensual nonconsent.

And then they ban BDSM and the furries.

And then they ban all the explicit stuff, which often involves specifically targeting queer content. 

And the worst thing? IT DOESN’T WORK. It never works. It just makes triggering and explicit content harder to avoid, because now it’s floating about in the wild, like it is on Tumblr. I have encountered my specific triggers and squicks incalculably more times on Tumblr than AO3 because of this.

‘Slippery slope’ is a logical fallacy, but when you’ve seen it play out on Livejournal, FF.net, tumblr, and multiple other smaller sites, you get to know the warning signs.

Apparently an antishipper wants to become a staff member of AO3 (Tiffany), and want to add censorship on a website made exactly for the contrary. Also, she talks a lot about the "public image" of AO3 even though it is a non-profit run website, it sounds extremely corporate.

If you can vote for the election in AO3, do it and vote for someone who does not want to add censorship on one of the rare fanfic site we have where we can write EVERYTHING.
