Hermione Granger Fan Fiction Quest!
I’m looking for fan fictions! Here’s the situation. I love Fan fiction and I’d like some tumblr help in maybe finding ones I may not have read.
Here’s what I’m looking for:
I like Hermione paired with Harry.
It must be complete or at least recurring enough to still be active. I don’t want a cliff hanger that hasn’t been updated in years.
I don’t like fan fictions where Hermione is underpowered. My girl is a huge deal and should be treated as more than a love interest or intelligence. I also don’t like it when they train her like a badass and then she does stupid shit in the final battle as if she hasn’t been training for this. I also hate it when Harry tells her she needs to stay behind. That’s dumb. Hermione didn’t risk her life for 7 books for you to leave her behind.

Harmony Rec List
Wow, this was rough. It’s hard to find well-written Harmony that is in character for everyone, doesn’t have Weasley/Dumbledore bashing. But these are the ones that I enjoyed and met most of my requirements! Enjoy!
There Goes the World: Dark!Harry. After the battle with Voldemort, Harry isn’t quite right. Hermione is the only one who believes in him, and he’s not leaving without her.
Time is the Fire: My favorite thing I read while looking for fics. A decent length, everyone is in character, awesome plot. The only thing is to pay attention to what you’re reading because there is Time Travel and it gets a bit Timey Wimey.
I Will Find You: The Four Times Hermione Granger Does Not Kiss Harry Potter, and the One Time She Does. Canon compliant and AU at the same time and utterly heartbreaking.
Fill in the Holes You’ve Made: Jamie wrote this one, so you know it’s good. One of the best characterizations of this ship and reminded me of why I ship them.
The Wisdom of Snow: I just really like this analogy. Harry compares himself to snow and how Hermione keeps him together. Sigh. Fluff/Angst.
Hermione Granger and the Goblet of Fire: What if Hermione was the one who was chosen for the Triwizard Tournament? Long and mostly well written from Hermione’s POV. Harry helps her and there is HG/HP in it, although it’s not the main focus. But it’s interesting to see how it unfolds.
This Veil Across My Heart: Harry and Hermione escape the wizarding world for a little while because they always need each other, rely on each other. This is angsty and contains adultery but deals with the Trio’s relationship beautifully, I thought. Angst.
Beyond a Kiss: silly Christmas one-shot about magical mistletoe. Fluff.

heyo! most importantly: WELCOME! man, not to hate on my own pairing but there is unfortunately a lot of weasley bashing. and on top of that, our fic writers are eerily quiet.
all that to say: here’s a rec list i put together last year (there like almost 60 fics but some of the stories are gone since people have removed stories and/or sites have been taken down)
not on that list that i have since read: spell it out (soulmate au//the formatting on the fic is a little condensed, but it’s worth parsing through)
there are definitely other fics around with hhr as peripheral pairings (a marauder’s plan comes to mind)
and here’s another rec list (not my list. but most of these fics which, again, are on LJ/portkey and may not exist), but it’s a great resource
Harry/Hermione Rec List
So a few months ago, I half-heartedly attempted to put a list together, but there was so many poorly written fics and Weasley!bashing and Dumbledore!bashing fics, that I just got disheartened.
But the summer rolled around and I had some time to kill before I started my new job (woot woot!) and I came up with this! I combed through lots and lots and lots of fic and found 57 FICS this time around that I thoroughly enjoyed, were in-character, and generally well-written.
Afterwards: “What makes you so sure something’s wrong?“ She looked at him sadly, wondering if it was possible that he didn’t realise just how much he’d withdrawn from them all, if he really didn’t know how worried everyone was about him. “Because I know you, Harry.”
Biding My Time: Basically, Snape knows, through Occlumency, that Harry has feelings for Hermione. Voldemort uses this information against the Golden Trio as they try and bring down the Dark Lord. (EXCELLENT)
Into the Night: Hermione shifts and then stumbles out from her bed, deciding that if he’s not going to come to her that she’d rather search blindly through the room for him. Her nightgown brushes gently against her legs as she moves silently through the room, her hand outstretched and waiting to yank the invisibility cloak off of him. She fumbles slowly, the searing pain in her shoulder screaming at her to stop and go back to bed because she’ll drive herself to another three days under Pomfrey’s care.
