Me. My Art. Myka.

@mykacustoms / mykacustoms.tumblr.com

My real name is Kristalyn Hazel. This blog contains my art: crafts, photography, cosplay and loads more! If you have questions, feel free to send me a message and I would reply to it as much as i could. ^__^

Here's how I made my Bellatrix Lestrange wig!

My base was a cheap wig from my stash and then I harvested wefts for the white parts.

I then braided the whole wig ~ as kinky as I wanted it. This took me a hell of a week!

After the braids, I soaked it hot water 4x. And then let it dry for 3 days. I made sure it's all dry before I de-braid it.

While de-braiding, I added in extensions to give it length. Bellatrix's hair was messy, so I wasn't really going for perfect.

This was interesting to make!

The set I bought came with the rope thingy that was really thin. So I made a thicker one from scratch!

This rope made my noggin crazy! Had some help from sister-chan too cause this was a looooong rope!

Iron-on vinyls. This was easier cause it's just waves.

But my hands were still challenged! 😅

I added one more wavy thingy print on the side and used purple cause it's closer to the anime color. :)

Side by side!

The one I sew is on the left, one on the right was store bought.

The Hakama Set

I originally bought an Inuyasha set as suggested by a friend, but again, stores started catering it so I bought an actual set. I can't link it tho, I think the seller archived it. ???

I wasn't going to sew anything but the side cleavage was PG and I wanted it more SPG 😏. I didn't want to alter the set i bought, so I just traced the top and sew a new one.

I used iron-on vinyl on the prints.

My fabric is Peach Twill.

Here's my Kanzashi ~ hair foam rollers! 🤓

I primed and painted it separately and then hot glued them together and added in big crocodile clips so I can clip it under the ponytail. ;)

Base wig only had blue highlights up front. I didn't wanted to experiment on dyes so I just sewed longer green wefts on the side to have that gradient effect.

I am happy how I trimmed the bangs tho 👌

LOOKIEEEE!!!! I commissioned a Salome pillow! I personally requested for just the snake body because I want to create the skull and the hair parts on my own -- originally the skull and the hair parts were also stuffed pillow.

And here is my Chopper set! It's ways fun making Chopper hats! Oda-sensei always makes the most interesting hats for the crew.

• The hat I made all from scratch -- the goggles, chain and feathers are store-bought

• The top of bottom are store bought too.

• The hooves I made from scratch and is part of the second full Chopper set I made before (I have hooves slippers too)

P.S. I didn't changed my lens 😅 from shooting my Nico Robin set and I didn't noticed that I was wearing the belt on the wrong side.

Since I didn't get decent photos, I had a mini photoshoot of my Film Red cosplays! Here is my Nico Robin set.

• Leather jacket I bought online and just customized

• Skirt I sewed from scratch

• Accessories were all from my stash

I tried ordering the costume set online but the seller cancelled it twice! It was more than a month of anxiety and I just had to do it myself.

This was the comfiest Nico Robin cosplay I ever worn. I can actually wear this on a normal day.
