a reboot of misery but with a youtuber

Sorta already happened...

Obviously not as good as Misery and not exactly the same but still a “crazed female fan” tale worth watching lol. More detailed review here

a quick grass tutorial

I’ve never really wrote a tutorial before so apologies if this is bad

1. okay first thing I do is pick three colors, a mid, dark, and light. I like to check the colors in greyscale to make sure there’s enough contrast between each one.

I then plop down a blob of whatever my middle tone color is.

2. next, I take my dark color and just sort of randomly place it around. I try to make sure there’s a good amount of both the mid and dark tones spread throughout. I personally like to keep it kinda messy. I also have pen pressure on for both brush size and opacity, so I can have some blending action going on.

3. for the next step I do the exact same thing as before, except with the light color.

4. aight this is where we start adding details. see how you just have a bunch of colors and edges where two colors meet? use the eyedropper and go to an area where two colors meet, eyedrop a color, and then use that color to draw in your grass blades. I do this at every point where colors meet. should note I personally like to use a square brush, but you can really just use anything.

5. you can technically stop at the last step if you’re going for a more simple look, but to add more details I go to the “empty” areas of solid color and just draw in random strokes using a color nearby. it’s just a way to fill up the empty space.

6. basically more of the same idea of eyedropping and drawing. for more variety so things look interesting, I like to add random plant shapes.

7. and so the grass doesn’t look too plain, I add random dots of color and pretend it’s flowers and stuff.

and there you have it, this is how I approach drawing grass.

Hi, I’m Wynter, I’m Deaf and fluent in ASL (American Sign Language). I get a lot of people telling me they want to learn to sign, but not knowing exactly where to start. So, I am here to provide that!

Let’s start off with some basics, though. ASL does NOT follow English grammar (Signed Exact English/SEE does, but it is not ASL), it only uses English words and a lot of the communication with singing is done via facial expression and body language. Basically, it goes in the order of time > topic > comment. For example, “ I am going to pet dogs next week” would be “next week dogs me pet”, but there are quite a few variants and every person who signs will have a different way of doing this. Sort of how people who speak English in different parts of America have an accent and different ways to sign things. The most important thing to note about ASL is that *American* Sign Language is not universal. Most languages have their own form of SL and a lot of the word signs/alphabets are not at all the same. Another note, learning SEE may seem easier at first, but it can actually make the transition to ASL grammar that much more difficult. An example of differing signs is BSL (British Sign Language) vs ASL.

This is the BSL finger alphabet:

And this is the American one:

So while there is a small bit of crossover, it is very, very different! Don’t get me wrong, a lot of times signers will understand each other at least a little bit, but it does need to be noted that signs can differ by language, country, region, and sometimes person.

Now, onto what you came for…

*Note: The best way to learn is through Deaf people/other signers!

If you want a safe place to learn sign language (including ASL), I have created a Discord called Sign Language Learners! Come join and learn with other learners, Deaf/HoH people, and those curious kids who just want to know how the Deaf communicate.

hilarious to think that any user of this website could get staff to budge on any of their shitty ideas. its literally only happened once and its because everyone was cyberbullying a best-selling novelist who just so happened to love the taste of cock

Avatar

we really were on the honour system of promising not to edit posts for years and John Green had to open his sultry little mouth and for once not to immediately place a cock in it

nobody claimed he was a pedophile. teenage girls on this website spoke up about being uncomfortable with him using tumblr to communicate with his young female fans & insert himself into teen spaces. his response was to blow it up into him being the victim of false accusations of being a child molester. instead of taking responsibility for his actions as an adult & acknowledging that he shouldn’t be making teen girls uncomfortable with his presence in their online communities, he deliberately manipulated kids on this website into defending him against a nonexistent attack in order to bully & silence the girls who dared to criticize him. he’s not “pure” or “a dork,” he’s a grown adult man who threw a tantrum when his entitlement was questioned. i HATE that stupid fucking joke post about him, but he’s not a victim for fuck’s sake.

It wasn’t just kids. Actual published authors, famous ones, who were grown fucking adults with enormous fanbases on this website (like Maggie Stiefvater) also jumped to John Green’s defense and put a fifteen year old girl on blast because she made what was actually a thoughtful, but ultimately super mild critique of his online presence.

Like, that’s the part that gets me every time I think about it. Actual grown ups with actual clout online dogpiled on a fifteen year old girl based on heresay from one man who took that criticism incredibly poorly.

Lmao, it’s been three fucking years and people still don’t get it. I was there too. That’s not actually how this conversation went down at all. The original post is still there for people to look at if they want. This is what the OP on that post wrote:

i bet john green thinks people don’t like him because he’s a “dork” or a nerd or whatever
when in reality it’s because he’s a creep who panders to teenage girls so that he can amass some weird cult-like following. and it’s always girls who feel misunderstood, you know, and he goes out of his way to make them feel important and desirable. which is fucking? weird?
also he has a social media presence that is equivalent to that dad of a kid in your friend group who always volunteers to “supervise” the pool parties and scoots his lawn chair close to all the girls.

To which John Green responded:

You want me to defend myself against the implication that I sexually abuse children?

The OP never implied that John Green sexually abused children. The OP wasn’t even objecting to the fact that he talks to his fans on this website. They were making an observation on his general behaviour when it came to interacting with his underage fans and why it struck them as discomfiting.

The person who started throwing around the idea that John Green was being accused of sexually abusing children was John Green himself, which was an incredible reach on his part. A grown up doesn’t have to be a pedophile or an abuser in order for their behaviour towards teenagers to be creepy and uncomfortable. Teenagers are allowed to talk about how some grown-ups make them feel uncomfortable without that being construed as an accusation of outright abuse.

The only reason ANY of this stuff even became about him being accused of pedophilia was because HE chose to read the post as such and responded accordingly. Rather than reflecting on his own behaviour, John Green chose to prioritize his own entitlement to behave as he pleases towards others without anyone calling him out on it. He made it all about himself and how “hurt” he was about all this “bullying,” responded in such a public fashion that it made the original poster a target of his fan base’s ire, got all of his fellow YA author friends to jump on the John Green Defense Bandwagon and further pile on this person for absolutely no reason, and then wound up proving their point about how his behaviour is so fucking creepy and over-the-top that he really shouldn’t be interacting with people online at all.

John Green literally had (in past tense because it’s possibly deleted now) a vlog where he stands up and places his crotch center-frame while wearing boxers. That’s the minute I stopped watching him. Because something in the milk ain’t clean when a grown man who knows majority of his viewership is teen (and preteen) girls thinks faux-flashing his fans is acceptable behavior.

everyone’s talking about yorgos lanthimos’s directorial genius and rightfully so BUT did anyone else know that the screenplay for the favourite was written twenty years ago by this woman deborah davis who had never written a screenplay before but had just discovered the story of queen anne and sarah and abigail in her work as a historian and become obsessed with it? so she did all this primary source research and went to night school to learn how to write screenplays and she finished her first draft in 1998 and started shopping it around and absolutely no one would finance the film because of the lesbian content and because studios were worried it would be hard to market without a male lead? and it wasn’t until fifteen years later in 2013 that the script came to yorgos and he was invested enough to start looking for funders, and then it wasn’t until this year that they finally put out the movie… literally it was twenty years in the making and all because deborah davis cared enough about this story to spend TWO DECADES revising her screenplay and sending it to producers

someone: wanna watch movies that revolve around female anger?

me:

Here’s some personal favorites for anyone looking for movies to watch...

Sympathy For Lady Vengeance  This film is the best movie centering female anger I’ve seen in my entire life! Lee Young-ae embodied Lee Geum-ja perfectly and the story is well-written with actual twists. TWs for scenes of graphic violence, child murder, “casual” fatphobia, guns, and implied sexual violence.

image

Kahaani   Vidya Balan did a wonderful job as the lead character and the plot is filled with interesting twists and turns. Ran slightly longer than it should but still entertaining throughout. TW for violence featuring knives and guns.

image

The Woods  Atmospheric horror with stellar cast performances. Film is basically a coming-of-age tale featuring witches and the supernatural. TWs for bullying, body horror, and gore.

image

The Craft  Speaking of witches, obvious choice but still a classic! TWs for an attempted rape scene, mentions of mental health issues and creepy crawlers (e.g. bugs, snakes, spiders)!

image

Foxfire  Late ‘90s girl-gang movie adapted from the book by the same name. This was the 2nd movie I saw Angelina Jolie in (1st was Hackers) and yes, she was the stand-out. Still, great performances from all the ladies. TWs for sexual assault, blood, guns, drug usage, and violence against women.

image

Waiting To Exhale  I know many see this movie as a film about friendship (which to be fair, it is) but it’s also a nuanced look at Black women’s anger. What I love most about it is how each woman’s anger is validated and none of the characters are villainized which is rare for Black women characters.

image

Big Girls Don’t Cry... The Get Even  Yes, this is a family film/teen comedy but the lead character’s anger over her family is centered and validated throughout the movie so... *shrugs*

image

Hard Candy  If you haven’t seen this film about online predators, I highly recommend you do. It’s one of the few movies on the topic that doesn’t glorify sexual violence against women and/or sensationalize it. Instead, the film gives valid social commentary about rape culture and provides a “revenge fantasy” ending that csa and rape survivors like myself can actually watch/enjoy. TWs for mentions of csa, suicide, and child murder.

image

The Quiet  Speaking of tasteful depictions, The Quiet is another movie I recommend. Jamie Babbit did a good job telling a nuanced story on the evil behind closed doors in suburbia. Though it is more blunt/graphic depicting csa than Hard Candy is, it’s not overly graphic to the point of sensationalism. TWs for mentions of csa and incest plus scenes with blood and violence.

image

Carrie  One of the OGs in “female anger” films! I hate the ending but I still love this horror gem from the ‘70s. And no, I do not recommend the remake lol! I digress. TWs for scenes of violence, death, domestic abuse, child abuse, bullying, blood, and light gore.

So Louis C.K. decided to go full red pill, huh? Dude’s started following bigots and neo-Nazis on twitter.

Trash.

I really hate how men, white men in particular, wear empathy as a costume and then shred it when it’s no longer lucrative for them.

I don’t think that’s actually his Twitter account, just an alt right troll who happened to grab the @louisck username. But the point above still stands because he’s apparently decided to make those assholes his new audience, as evidenced by his “comeback” material. The thing is, his material wasn’t always like this—he’s ACTIVELY PANDERING to them in a desperate bid for cultural relevancy.

In a later extensive riff about the word “retarded” and how C.K. thinks it is ridiculous that it is now widely viewed as an inappropriate term to call anybody who is mentally disabled or to use as slang because of the connotations, he joked that Jenny would be an appropriate name for a girl with mental disabilities, “or a trans retarded boy.”
After some in the audience appeared to be shocked at his extensive joke about people with mental disabilities, C.K. told the crowd: “Fuck it, what are you going to take away, my birthday? My life is over, I don’t give a shit. You can be offended, you can get mad at me.”
He then began telling a racist joke about the different sizes of penises between black, white, and Asian men.
“You know why Asian guys have small dicks. ’Cause they’re women. They’re not dudes. They’re all women. All Asians are women. And they have big clits, really big clits, and when they have sex they just stick their clits in each other’s pussies and then they procreate using math,” said the 51-year-old comedian.

I like how they put his age there at the end, because 51 is really embarassingly old for that kind of 4chan-tier material.

Sounds like he’s lashing out at marginalized people because his disgusting behavior ruined his career... in other words, typical white male bullshit lol.

#i could write a dissertion on this scene#like how the failure of comprehensive sex education + compulsary heterosexuality + relationships between women#are allowed to be playfully sexually but its never real#lala saying she fucking dumbs water in her pussy and uses that as lube like a fucking maniac#they all jack off to lesbian porn#theres so much more#vanderpump rules I literally think about this scene more than any other from vanderpump rules for all of these reasons it’s just INSANE like lala saying she doesnt get turned on by a man and a woman having sex (all of them said that really), brittany going me too but also i’m strictly dickily and it’s just…

The fact that none of them can take their attraction to women seriously and just assume they have to be with with men (who are horrible partners) but they get all their emotional support from the women in their lives omg it reminds me of this thing on sex and the city

“What’s on display most often in Sex and the City is a kind of same-sex eroticism whose job is to perform the sensitive caring labor necessary for keeping the dream of the heterosexual good life intact. The phone calls, the late nights, the affectionate nicknames—they pour themselves into each other’s lives. It’s a curious thing that heterosexuality, doesn’t actually work without 24/7 technical support. It is a curiouser thing that, thanks in part to Sex and the City itself, teams of women across America are convinced to provide this technical support for free. Maybe there’s some kind of feedback loop at work here: heterosexuality forbids you from being a dyke, then makes you gay for your girlfriends. I’m hardly convinced that any of our protagonists actually like men; what they do seem to like is liking men, because empirically speaking, liking men translates, almost all of the time, into being with women: touching their hair, rubbing their shoulders, sharing their feelings.”

Like that’s literally what’s going on here

I can’t believe I’m being clocked by a post about Vanderpump Rules…

@theocseason4 has an interesting theory. Here’s an alternative! Lesbian porn, for the most part, isn’t as extreme (read: visibly aggressive on women) as het porn. Lesbian porn focuses on women being sexually pleased; women cumming. It’s quite possible that’s where the actual appeal is - seeing someone who looks like you expressing their sexuality and being satisfied instead of abused vs. the women themselves. Like, two women saying they can’t get off to watching a man and a woman fucking is not them saying the act itself doesn’t turn them on. And considering how many straight women often see us queer women as an escape from male partners who “don’t have a woman’s touch”, it’s very likely that same faulty logic is projected on their porn choices. And that doesn’t even factor in how society constantly forces women, regardless of sexuality, to see women as sexual objects!

As for SATC excerpt, let’s be honest - none of the leads were queer. None. Granted Sam was open to non-het sexuality, it was solely because her character was the “sexual” one. A “I’ll do anything once; twice if I like it!” attitude doesn’t make someone her queer lol. I digress. Saying the SATC friendships were “same-sex eroticism“ because the characters were emotionally supportive is not only a ridiculous self-drag but homophobic. Why? Because it’s basically the “wlw couples are just girl bffs who have sex” rhetoric reworded. NO BUENO! Also, did the author of that nonsense forget SATC was created and written by a gay man??? That’s very important to note because it shows in the show! And by that I mean SATC’s depictions of het relationships were based on the sensationalized experiences of a middle-class white woman then exaggerated further via gender stereotypes. Ofc it was the worse™ lol! Not to mention, the show prioritized the ladies’ friendship because that was the point of the show!!! It wasn’t some accident that outs how “gay” straight women are for their friends - the rep was on purpose because some straight women are genuinely good friends to their friends lol!!!

So yeah, I’m always here for pointing out how heteronormativity messes with our understanding of human sexuality and our personal sexual expression. On the other hand, sometimes a straight is just a straight and that’s okay lol.
