It is so wild to me that there was a whole entire X-Men movie completely focused around a lesbian relationship, both as the focus of the plot and as the emotional core, a lesbian relationship between two lesbian superheroes who lesbian kiss and lesbian shower together, on-lesbian-screen

And somehow that seems to gone over absolutely everyone’s radar.

Disney gets all the headlines every time they have another First Gay Character but there was a WHOLEASS XMEN MOVIE that was wholeass about mutant lesbians who mutant lesbian kiss on mutant lesbian screen

That the director and writers and actors fought for years to finally get released, eventually putting all of their careers on the line to basically blackmail the Mouse by joining together to go on the public record saying “the reason they’re refusing to release our movie even though it was finished years ago is that when Disney took control from Fox they decided a movie focused around a lesbian relationship was “too adult”; so. if they decide to not release it ever - now you know why”

And somehow no one seems to have noticed?????

I am pinning this post because I have decided it is my absolute top priority, on this decade old blog with many tens of thousands of posts, to spread New Mutants supremacy

Yeah, I'm not ashamed to admit that sometimes comics make me cry real tears because, this boy who everyone forgot, who had to fight so hard to find any scrap of himself and where he wanted to belong in this family, had lost all of it--except he hadn't. They remembered him. Ma looked at him and touched his face and said, "Conner!" It's not raining on my face, I am absolutely crying real tears because for once the universe was kind to Kon-El.

Tomb of the Roaring Lions and vase of Narce-painter, both painted by the same person, the Narce-painter who worked ar Veii, southern Etruria.

For the record, this is not the vase known to be painted by the Narce-painter. It’s a random piece in a university’s on-campus art museum that’s labeled only as “Etruscan food jar”. It does, however, look amazingly similar to the work of the Narce-painter, to the point that I’m considering contacting the museum and going “hey did you know?”

(At last check current belief was that the Narce-painter had not actually done the frescoes in the Tomb of the Roaring Lions, but just inspired the artist who did, but that’s I believe somewhat debated.)
