another virus is going around

i just got home and saw a message from a mutual i’ve never talked to, about a birthday gift. DONT CLICK ON THE LINK. i haven’t so i don’t know what it does, but i’ve heard it logs you out and sends you to a fake tumblr to take your information. it’s a hack. and it fucks up your computer/laptop/phone/device.

this is what the message looks like, and if you click the link, it sends it to every single one of your mutuals (or possibly ALL THE PEOPLE THAT FOLLOW YOU)

Just a warning for those who aren’t aware: the porn bots on here are becoming out of hand, and are now starting to reblog people’s selfies and are actually adding sketchy links along with sexual captions. I think, until this problem is fixed (let’s hope it will be), it’s probably wise you don’t post any selfies if you don’t want your face being on a porn blog, especially if you’re a minor. Take care!

if i don’t message back, it’s not your fault. you are not bothering me.

if i don’t message back it’s because

a) i didn’t see the message - This one’s pretty common. Notifications aren’t sent, I forget to check stuff, I close the message window before i see the message but after it “arrives”, I’m afk, etc. I’m not a busy person, I just miss a lot of messages.

b) i don’t know what to say - sometimes I just don’t know what to say. sorry.

c) i’m having a hard time processing that you are, in fact, actually messaging me - or i’m crying because excited but also nerves.

IT IS NOT BECAUSE

-you’re bothering me: if you were, i’d say so

-i don’t want to talk to you: i’m not a social person, i’m better at doing the askbox thing than PMs, but if you message me, i’ll message back eventually. unless you’re a porn bot or something.

-i’m ignoring you: i don’t try to ignore people- if i’m online (especially on Skype/Discord) I usually have sounds and notifications off. Skype itself is open in a different browser (download version crashes a lot), and Discord is usually minimized/closed if I have it on at all.

-anything to do with you: i honestly suck at the social/friend thing. just give it time.
