Also hey btw

The term “masterpiece” originally and traditionally meant a piece of work that an apprentice or other aspiring craftsman created to show off to his master or the town’s guild. So naturally, it was intended to be the best fucking thing that you could make, demonstrating just how fucking good you are at what you’re making - 100% to flex your skills. And if it was approved, the applicant was accepted as a member of the guild and could now call himself a master, and work in this craft in this city.

So the next time you’re looking at The One Great Thing you made and think “this is it, my masterpiece, I have peaked, it’s all downhill from here”, consider looking it the other way: Making your masterpiece means you’re only getting started.

also before it starts to happen: if i see a single person calling july "gay wrath month" or saying "we deserve a second one" it is ON SIGHT. that is DISABILITY PRIDE MONTH. abled queers i will run you over with my wheelchair if you so much as reblog one of those comments.

hello! reblog this version instead!

before i say what i'm gonna say, i need everyone to know that 1. i love dustin. and 2. i do not like seeing any of the younger teens get hurt

that being said

i need dustin to get punched in the face ONCE

HEAR ME OUT!

it always ALWAYS rubbed me the wrong way when dustin scolded steve for not taking the russian base torture "like a man" or for letting the drugs overpower him. that pisses me off so bad every time i watch that episode

the only injury dustin has gotten from the past three years has been a sprain/broken ankle, but he has never gotten into an altercation with anyone, person or monster, and i need it to happen season 5

if we do get the time skip, he might be at the same age steve was when he fought with johnathan in s1. i really need to have that come back full circle just so he can appreciate how much steve has protected him from harm

I agree, I have a son very like Dustin. And when he moves up to secondary school he WILL get punched in the face. It’s not an IF but a WHEN. And when he does I will have the mega med kit I have on standby [my accident prone daughter and myself’s]. And I am shocked it has not happened to Dustin yet, love him but he needs to appreciate how much Steve protects and cares for him. Side note, didn’t Dustin electrocute that Russian? Has he processed that yet or has he compartmentalised Russians with the monsters so they’re not human??

on the surface, the russian/scoop troop storyline was very fun and colorful.

on the a deeper level that the writers refuse to delve into, THOSE KIDS SHOULD BE TRAUMATIZED

they just swept all that shit under the fucking rug. steve getting tortured, steve and robin getting drugged, erica finding out all this upside down shit that has happened, dustin killing a man!?

it's all been taken as a joke and i think that's a real disservice to those characters, there should be consequences to the things they witness, not just will or el. all of these people should be showing signs of trauma and how to deal with the aftermath.

this is how we got a real underwhelming reaction to eddie's death in the final episode of season 4. no one but dustin seemed to give a shit and that's not fair because they were all invested in proving his innocence.

not to be emo on main but the reason Steve Harrington has such an amazing arc is because he, arguably, doesn’t gain much from becoming a better person. he loses his friend group. ends up picking up a bat to fight a monster because nancy and jonathan are in danger. and when he gets dumped? well, might as well help this random kid that i sort of know fight another monster. oh, there’s a secret base? let me get tortured so my friends don’t. when he and the others escape the mall, it’s Steve who leads the charge from weathertop and goes back to save his ex girlfriend and her new boyfriend and helps fight a massive monster solely because it’s the right thing to do. homeboy risks his life over and over for a group of kids and doesn’t expect anything in return. like at all. he doesn’t get the girl, he certainly loses his job, and he regularly gets the crap beaten out of him. but he does it anyway.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT I JUST REALIZED

YOU KNOW THE HAIKU BOT???

OFC YOU DO

the only super long Tumblr post I love

Me: Hey film studios can I have some light in these scenes?

Film studios:

Me: Hey can I have some subtitles?

Film studios:

Me: Hey can I have some actual sound?

Film studios:

[id in alt text]

Just by the way this post is specifically about how the film industry is inaccessible to disabled folks, this isn't about lazy writing, this isn't about diversity hires, this is about how movies and TV shows aren't accessible to disabled audiences.

Steve watches as Eddie drops the shield clumsily, just lets it fall into the grass. His hand—it’s not shaking, exactly, but there’s a delay to everything, to the way his fingers curl, like even the smallest movement takes so much effort.

Steve knows the feeling: when the whole world feels like wading through molasses.

Eddie comes to sit next to him, thunks the back of his head against the RV and winces. “Ow.”

Steve smiles. “We’ve got time, y’know.”

Eddie gives him a blank look. The shadows under his eyes are practically sunken in. “Time?”

Steve gestures out to the distance, where the kids are still playing, where Nancy and Robin are re-counting the supplies he’d noted down earlier. “Reckon you’ve got an hour or so, if you wanna get your head down.”

Eddie snorts. “Ah, sleep,” he says, with a wry smile. “What’s that?”

It’s feminist for me to fantasize about a beefy country boy to lift things for me and introduce me to his goats, because it turns me on and is therefore empowering!!! Fuck you!!!!!!!

Are there weird gender role issues here if he has a big appetite and I make a lot of food for him? NO, because I am also PEGGING HIM in this scenario!! I am the FARM DOMME

I’m going back in time to cancel this post because I’ve been told this is categorized as horny on main. Frankly I don’t see how it is horny to want someone in scuffed jeans blush while letting you pet their sheep but I’ve been overruled and I have a career to consider so [REDACTED]

Julia I’m reporting you

Julia I’m just worried about the goats

God okay you don’t understand, the goats initially are somewhat skittish but end up liking me right away, leading the farmboy to go “I’ve never seen them warm up to anyone so quickly before!” And we share a shy but tender glance as the sun sets, until a goat does something silly that makes us both break into laughter. The GOATS are ESSENTIAL in getting him to NUT IN ME

They would have called this female hysteria and given you opium for this back in the day

I think the saddest character in the Hunger Games franchise is Mags Flanagan. She is as almost as old as the Games themselves. She won the 11th Hunger Games. Then, for the entirety of her life, for over 60 years, she was forced to relieve that same trauma year after year, trying to train kids, save kids, just like herself. Over time Mags watched the Games get more brutal, more “entertaining”. She watched her community sacrifice two children over and over again. There is nothing Mags can do but bare it. She desensitizes herself. She reaches her 80s. She is old and almost free of the pain; the trauma has formed a callous. But Mags will continue to work until she dies. This is all she has ever known.

Then, the 75th Quarter Quell is announced and Mags is back on the stage for the first time in 60 years. A reaping outfit. Her name in a glass bowl. The tension, the dread, the silence before the reading of the name – Annie Cresta. But to Mags, it never mattered the name that was picked. She knew her hand was going up. And for the first time since she was a child, she is back in the Games.

During her the 11th Hunger Games, Mags was caged in the zoo with the other tributes. This time, she is presented with a gorgeous suite, the best food the Capitol has to offer, and the finest clothes. The 11th Hunger Games were televised on a blurry screen; now, all of Panem is going to watch her every move. Mags knows she isn’t going to win. But, as she spends the last weeks of her life walking in the shoes of every child she couldn’t save, as the trauma of her own Games is as alive and present as it has ever been, she knows that, for the first time in her long life, she was able to truly save at least one person from this fate.

Hope is a funny thing. Mags picked apart the Capitol’s logic and the heart of the Games long ago. She knows why they allow one victor, and how every tribute goes into the arena hoping its them. She knows this is unrealistic; all of Panem knows that only one will come out alive. But even as she rises into the ticking clock of the arena, that stubborn feeling flutters in her chest. Maybe she will get out of there with the rest of the rebels. But if not –

Mags looks to Johanna. To Katniss and Peeta. To Finnick. Her hope for them is stronger, steadier, than the hope for her own self-preservation. She looks into the cornucopia of weapons, the familiar ring of twenty-four tributes, and allows herself to dream that maybe, maybe, this is it. This will be the last one.

For the first time in over half a century, Mags won’t be watching the Games from the comfort and safety of a faraway room. This time, she has the chance to help directly. To be able to protect others with more than just a parachute full of supplies. To have the ability to save another life. To save multiple lives. To save all the future children of Panem.

The gong sounds.

Mags smiles.

She dives into the water.
