Don't get me wrong, the ruling is bad. But that is NOT what the case or the ruling was about.

The case in question was Glacier Northwest v. Teamsters Local 174, and was about whether or not Glacier, a concrete manufacturing company, could sue the striking Teamsters Union over the loss of cement that had been manufactured but not delivered at the beginning of the strike.

Generally, employers are not allowed to sue employee organizations engaged in activities protected by the NLRA, like striking. However, SCOTUS found that this case falls under one of the only exceptions to that rule, which is intentional property damage or failure to take reasonable precautions to prevent such damage.

This ruling is bad in that it cracks open the door for employers to sue striking unions more if they can come up with a "property damage" angle, thus increasing the attack surface that companies have over unions.

The ruling is not carte blanche for companies to sue striking unions over any loss caused by a strike.

You should absolutely be angry about this ruling because it is anti-union bullshit. But be angry about it correctly, so you know how to talk about it and how to fight it.

Important clarification

listening to Gravity Falls episode commentaries is great. Alex Hirsch nearly worked himself to death constantly. Grunkle Stan was nearly voiced by Matt Chapman of Homestar Runner. Literally nothing aside from the twist about Stan having a twin was planned more than a few episodes in advance. The zodiac wheel meant nothing and consisted of random symbols from the first 7 episodes because the intro was animated after those were done. Alex came up with the term “search for the blind eye” to be an extra bit for the between-season shorts before deciding to actually have a payoff for that setup and writing Society of the Blind Eye. Bill was meant to be a joke character and when Alex suggested that he be a real villain Michael Rianda responded “You, my friend, have lost the plot.” Bill getting one episode in the spotlight was basically chance and he only became the main villain of season 2 because he was so popular with the fans. The reveal of the portal at the end of season 1 was suggested by Mike without thinking it through and he left before the next season and the other writers were SO ANNOYED after that went through because they somehow had to keep that plot going for the 10 episodes it’d take to actually pay off. I am genuinely astonished that this show came together as well as it did at all.

Gravity Falls did a LOST, only actually made it internally consistent and had satisfying conclusions. And, so far as we know, wasn't an HR hellscape that ran off talent and staff with harassment and bullying.

this first lyric replacement (”take the breadsticks and run”) is a reference to the tumblr meme ‘stuffing breadsticks into my purse’. i think everyone remembers that one so i wont bother to explain it. that’s meme two (2)

“man door hand hook car door” is a meme of its own, a creepypasta from i dont remember when. it was a terrible stupid retelling of the generic ‘stuck in a car while hook handed man tries to kill us’ story so the stupid title caught on for memorability. that in and of itself is meme three (3)

‘gun’ is… yeah i dont know how to explain gun. long story short you add gun to the end of a phrase instead of what you expect the last word to be. its shock funny. its everywhere but its popular to add to “man door hand hook car door” for.. some reason? gun is meme four (4)

and the thing is, this four meme combo is something thats gone around before. meme combos are, itself, a meme. which means taking this meme combo and mixing in another meme actually becomes meme five (5)

which leaves us at loss.jpg. loss.jpg was a terrible bad comic supposed to be about some tragic event, but it was presented so poorly literally no one takes it seriously, and for some reason recreating the four-panel setup has become popular. so thats meme six (6)

(but i need to add that this is the greatest version of loss.jpg i think i’ve ever seen. the initial ‘young man’ lines up with the guy bursting through the door, and the shock meme ‘gun’ matches the shock scene of the woman in the hospital and idk if OP even thought about that but it makes this just so much better)
