At this point they should just put Emma at rock bottom, let her finally let go of the Scott she loved and move one. So she can get back up a better person. Become a member of X-Men Blue or some shit.

Thats not what it was implying at all. Emma is being driven crazy with great grief. She sees young Scott and tries to remake the man she loved. Sure in a terrrible way. But she was a villian in the past and is now.
