This is a gorgeous post, everyone should reblog it to see the balancing side to the whole bad things happening in the world!

Omg so I’m at the cafe by campus and this guy came in and went to hug this chick but she went in for a fist bump

OK OMG SHE SAT HIM DOWN AND SAID “I think we should break up”

I’m legit 3 feet away from them pretending to be invested in my science book

She said “it’s not you it’s me” and before he could respond the barista called his name. It’s Bob. Poor Bob

The move was effective. The lady looks defensive

Bob has come back.

It was a few minutes of awkward silence as he took a sip of his drink. It’s the same kind as mine. Meaning he ordered Hot Chocolate

He started out with “You know, I think.” And I could hear this lady’s eyes roll. No one cares what you think Robert

FINGERS ARE FLYING. SHE POINTING AT HIM. SHIT IS GETTING REAL.

she calmed down and he legit did that thing where you steppe you fingers together in front of your mouth and take a huge breath. Bro. Leave it. It’s done. She’s too pretty for you.

He freaking snapped his fingers like he’s got this grand plan to make up for things.

She Said she still wants to be friends. She starts this by asking about his day

Apparently something bob said made her laugh.

She has not been able to say a word since she got him talking. It’s too loud in the cafe for me to make out anything even tho I’m legit behind this chick

He talking about his struggles now and how much he needs her. Run lady. Run. Run far away.

She tried to get up and his hAND SHOT OUT TO GRAB HERS

She’s literally folded in herself. Hands not going out further than the table. Limited hand movements.

Now she’s talking about her self. He doesn’t look that invested.

“well some people are bitchy” -bob

Lady does not have a drink. I don’t think she planned on being here this long.

Bob is again talking about himself 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 no one cares bob.

Well he said something that made her laugh again. It sounded fake tho.

He’s talking about school. APPARENTLY HE IS A PROFESSOR

“Promiscuousness leads to disease” -Bob again.

I’m done with my hot chocolate and I don’t know if the bitter taste in my mouth is from the chocolate residue I drank or my disdain for Professor Bob.

She adjusted her chair so she’s further away

SHE GOT UP! She went to take her purse but bob said to leave and he would watch it. I think she’s headed to the bathroom.

I can’t leave! But he’s doing that voice to text thing for his phone. Talking to someone about this? Idk?

I’m trying to figure out what he’s saying by looking at his lips but I suck as this. Also where are his lips?? Bob is lipless. Further proof that lizard people exist.

I just noticed the lady left her phone in her purse.

Ok she’s coming back. She is pretty. Too pretty for Bob. But probs old enough to be my mom.

He’s talking about his students again.

She was talking and he interrupted her and she was like “I was talking” and he like flinched and he apologized. Yes queen.

“but this is why this democracy is at its purest.” Wtf Bob that doesn’t make sense

They’re talking so quietly now I can’t hear them.

“I should have said this a long time ago. But I can’t get anyone to love me” -Bob what the fuck.

“I feel like I’m projecting my self onto you” -bob once again

She’s leaving! She said something about picking up her son, Kevin, from school. Good job lady!

HOLY SHIT HES REACHING INTO HIS PANTS WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF

*pocket. But still.

HE PULLED OUT A RING BUT THE CHICK IS ALREADY OUT THE DOOR. OMG

OMG OMG OMG ITS A MENS RING!! HE PUT IT ON HIS HAND HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT. HES PICKING UP HIS PHONE

“Hey babe, nah sorry about not answering your call. I was in a meeting with a student. I’m leaving my office now. Yeah I can pick up dinner. Is Tanner home from school yet?”

HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT

Fuck you bobert

I do not understand this “male privilege" bullshit.

What. Fucking. Privileges. Do. Men. Have.???????

Name them. I swear, I challenge you to name these “male privileges" and be able to prove them.

Come on, I fucking dare you.

Name them!

Oh boy. Well, as a man, I’ll tell you my male privilege.

  1. My odds of being hired for a job, when competing against female applicants, are probably skewed in my favor. The more prestigious the job, the larger the odds are skewed.
  2. I can be confident in the fact that my co-workers won’t think that I was hired/promoted because of my sex - despite the fact that it’s probably true.
  3. If I ever am promoted when a woman of my peers is better suited for the job, it is because of my sex.
  4. If i ever fail at my job or career, it won’t be seen as a blacklist against my sex’s capabilities.
  5. I am far less likely to face sexual harassment than my female peers.
  6. If I do the same task as a woman, and if the measurement is at all subjective, chances are people will think I did a better job.
  7. If I am a teen or an adult, and I stay out of prison, my odds of getting raped are relatively low.
  8. On average, I’m taught that walking alone after dark by myself is less than dangerous than it is for my female peers.
  9. If I choose not to have children, my masculinity will not be questioned.
  10. If I do have children but I do not provide primary care for them, my masculinity will not be questioned.
  11. If I have children and I do care for them, I’ll be praised even if my care is only marginally competent.
  12. If I have children and a career, no one will think I’m selfish for not staying at home.
  13. If I seek political office, my relationship with my children or who I deem to take care of them will more often not be scrutinized by the press.
  14. My elected representatives are mostly people of my own sex. The more prestigious the position, the more this is true.
  15. When i seek out “the person in charge", it is likely that they will be someone of my own sex. The higher the position, the more often this is true.
  16. As a child, chances are I am encouraged to be more active and outgoing than my sisters.
  17. As a child, I could choose from an almost infinite variety of children’s media featuring positive, active, non-stereotyped heroes of my own sex. I never had to look for it; male protagonists were (and are) the default.
  18. As a child, chances are I got more teacher attention than girls who raised their hands just as often.
  19. If my day, week or year is going badly, I need not ask of each negative episode or situation whether or not it has sexist overtones. (Nobody’s going to ask if I’m upset because I’m menstruating.)
  20. I can turn on the television or glance at the front page of the newspaper and see people of my own sex widely represented.
  21. If I’m careless with my financial affairs it won’t be attributed to my sex.
  22. If I’m careless with my driving it won’t be attributed to my sex.
  23. I can speak in public to a large group without putting my sex on trial.
  24. Even if I sleep with a lot of women, there is little to no chance that I will be seriously labeled a “slut,” nor is there any male counterpart to “slut-bashing.”
  25. I do not have to worry about the message my wardrobe sends about my sexual availability.
  26. My clothing is typically less expensive and better-constructed than women’s clothing for the same social status. While I have fewer options, my clothes will probably fit better than a woman’s without tailoring.
  27. The grooming regimen expected of me is relatively cheap and consumes little time.
  28. If I buy a new car, chances are I’ll be offered a better price than a woman buying the same car. The same goes for other expensive merchandise.
  29. If I’m not conventionally attractive, the disadvantages are relatively small and easy to ignore.
  30. I can be loud with no fear of being called a shrew. I can be aggressive with no fear of being called a bitch.
  31. I can ask for legal protection from violence that happens mostly to men without being seen as a selfish special interest, since that kind of violence is called “crime” and is a general social concern. (Violence that happens mostly to women is usually called “domestic violence” or “acquaintance rape,” and is seen as a special interest issue.)
  32. I can be confident that the ordinary language of day-to-day existence will always include my sex. “All men are created equal,” mailman, chairman, freshman, he.
  33. My ability to make important decisions and my capability in general will never be questioned depending on what time of the month it is.
  34. I will never be expected to change my name upon marriage or questioned if I don’t change my name.
  35. The decision to hire me will not be based on assumptions about whether or not I might choose to have a family sometime soon.
  36. Every major religion in the world is led primarily by people of my own sex. Even God, in most major religions, is pictured as male.
  37. Most major religions argue that I should be the head of my household, while my wife and children should be subservient to me.
  38. If I have a wife or live-in girlfriend, chances are we’ll divide up household chores so that she does most of the labor, and in particular the most repetitive and unrewarding tasks.
  39. If I have children with my girlfriend or wife, I can expect her to do most of the basic childcare such as changing diapers and feeding.
  40. If I have children with my wife or girlfriend, and it turns out that one of us needs to make career sacrifices to raise the kids, chances are we’ll both assume the career sacrificed should be hers.
  41. Assuming I am heterosexual, magazines, billboards, television, movies, pornography, and virtually all of media is filled with images of scantily-clad women intended to appeal to me sexually. Such images of men exist, but are rarer.
  42. In general, I am under much less pressure to be thin than my female counterparts are. If I am over-weight, I probably suffer fewer social and economic consequences for being fat than over-weight women do.
  43.  If I am heterosexual, it’s incredibly unlikely that I’ll ever be beaten up by a spouse or lover.
  44. Complete strangers generally do not walk up to me on the street and tell me to “smile.”
  45. Sexual harassment on the street virtually never happens to me. I do not need to plot my movements through public space in order to avoid being sexually harassed, or to mitigate sexual harassment.
  46. On average, I am not interrupted by women as often as women are interrupted by men.
  47. On average, I will have the privilege of not knowing about my male privilege.

And lastly, I am taken as a more credible feminist than my female peers, despite the fact that the feminist movement is not liberating to my sex.

This is male privilege.

THIS. THIS IS HOW YOU BE A MALE FEMINIST.

YES YES YES YES YES

Sad to say, but the fact that people think there’s no male privilege says a lot about social awareness.

A letter that Johnny Cash wrote to June Carter in 1994 was voted the greatest love letter of all time, beating out others written by Winston Churchill, Jimi Hendrix, romantic poet John Keats, and Hollywood lovers Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. They were married from 1968 until June passed away in 2003. Johnny died 4 months later. Source Source 2

Another love letter that Cash wrote to Carter.

Fuck me backwards. My first fic. I'm super nervous.

PREFACE: pardon this for being long as balls, but I don’t know how to do a read more, and the fucking things don’t work on the app anyway. Introducing one of my main sets of OCs, the Di Roma brothers: David, Lucas, Felix, and Asher.

It was early evening, and the Di Roma brothers had been driving all day on the move to their new home. They moved often, and usually pretty far, to wherever the eldest, David, could find cheap rent and a school that would accept their youngest brother, Asher. It was a tricky combination to find these days. Sixth grader Asher Di Roma had been expelled from twelve schools in less than seven years of education, which is why he and his brothers were moving halfway through the fall semester.

David, the only one with a license, was in the driver’s seat, with Felix, the second youngest, riding shotgun with the directions pulled up on his phone. In the back were the second eldest, Lucas, who was sitting behind David, and, sprawled across the entire backseat, with his head in Lucas’s lap, Asher.

“Daaaaaaaaaaviiiiiiiiid. Pull over.” The youngest whined, wrapping his arms around his stomach.

“No.” David replied flatly, brushing his bright red hair out of his eyes as he squinted into the sunset. “I’ve pulled over for you four times already, and you haven’t even been sick once.”

“I’m serious. C'mooooooon.” Asher pouted persistently.

“Fuck off. We’re like half an hour out. Suck it up.” David wasn’t having any of his younger brother’s shit right now. While Asher did get miserably motion sick on just about any form of transportation besides maybe a bicycle, the runt of the Di Roma litter also had a proclivity for melodrama and generally being an obnoxious little asshat.

“D… Davey… maybe you should pull over…”

Lucas was much more patient with Asher than David was, and unlike the eldest, he could see the sorry state of his youngest sibling all too well. The only colour to Asher’s face was the smattering of freckles across his cheeks, and though the scrawny young boy had always been pale, he usually looked alive, at least. Right now he looked more like a sickly corpse, and his messy blond hair was stuck to his forehead with a thin sheen of sweat.

“I already said no. We’re nearly there. He’ll be fine.”

Asher’s response was merely a miserable whine as he hid his face in his older brother’s legs with a sickly burp. Lucas sighed softly, gently rubbing Asher’s back and hoping his little brother wouldn’t throw up on him. Felix was periodically giving his brothers in the backseat a concerned glance, and kept looking between them and David as though he felt he should say something but didn’t know how.

Ten minutes passed in silence, and David was praying the next twenty would go by in similar fashion. To his dismay, only moments later, Asher started whining again.

“David… pull over. Please. I feel really sick.” That was honestly an understatement on Asher’s part. For nearly the last half hour, his stomach had been doing flips like a gymnast on a trampoline, and in the past ten minutes, he’d felt his lunch creeping up his throat, threatening to make a reappearance. Every bump in the road and slight turn had him clamping a hand over his mouth to stifle a queasy hiccup and hopefully keep his stomach contents actually in his stomach for the moment.

Luckily for Asher, his eldest brother seemed to be taking him more seriously this time. Perhaps it was because the usually mannerless boy had been desperate enough to say please and even sound sincere. Or perhaps David was just hoping that if he pulled over Asher would finally shut the hell up. Either way, the shitty old sedan was now stopped on the side of the road, and Lucas was gently helping the youngest out of the car.

Not two seconds after his feet touched the grass, Asher doubled over and vomited profusely, depositing his lunch on the ground and a bit on his sneakers. He was trembling faintly and gasping for breath as he heaved dryly, attempting to bring up the rest of his tumultuous stomach’s contents. Lucas had a hand on his little brother’s back, keeping him steady and rubbing in slow, gentle circles. His other hand was keeping Asher’s overly long choppy bangs out of the way so that they didn’t get covered in puke. The youngest boy spent several minutes retching fruitlessly into the grass, and David was looking impatient.

“Ash, are you done yet? You’ve been out there a while.”

The thin blond shook his head, trembling a little and clutching at his churning stomach.

“Still feel sick,” he mumbled, another dry heave wracking his petite frame.

Lucas gave Asher’s back a gentle pat between rubs, murmuring soft reassurances. He turned to David with a stern look when the eldest made a noise of frustration.

“He can’t help it, David. Give him a break, the poor thing has been feeling carsick all day.”

David huffed but didn’t reply, instead taking the opportunity to check his phone for the first time since lunch. Felix, on the other hand, was watching Lucas and Asher, looking somewhere between worried and sympathetically nauseous.

“Are you sure you’re not done?” Lucas asked, giving the youngest boy a concerned look.

Asher nodded.

“I’m sure. I still… urp..” he paused to clamp a hand over his mouth as a queasy burp escaped his lips. “Still feel really sick….”

Lucas nodded, seeming to be thinking for a moment before he gave a reply.

“We do need to get going. Let’s get back in the car. I’m sure we’ve got a bag you can be sick in if you need it…”

He carefully helped the reluctant Asher back into the backseat. As if on cue, Felix offered up a plastic grocery bag, earning him a smile from Lucas.

“Perfect. Thanks, Lix.”

Felix nodded and picked up his phone again, guiding David back onto their route. Meanwhile, Lucas was attempting to coax a little water into the still very nauseous Asher, and the younger boy wasn’t being very cooperative.

“Come on, just a sip? It’ll get the taste out of your mouth…”

After a bit of pressure, Asher finally accepted the water, sighing quietly and giving it a few tentative sips. Lucas smiled gently at Ash and kissed his forehead, smoothing out his younger brother’s hair and pulling him close. Asher certainly didn’t protest, resting his head on Lucas’s shoulder with a groan.

The next few minutes were surprisingly serene, but a small jolt in the road had Asher sitting bolt upright and grasping for the plastic bag. Lucas handed it to him before once again holding Asher’s hair aside.

A splattering retch echoed in the crinkly plastic, and Asher’s shoulders quivered a little as he continued to heave and gag, bringing up the last bit of lunch and probably his breakfast as well. Despite being very concerned, Lucas was trying to focus on being supportive. His hand not holding the younger boy’s hair was rubbing steady circles on his younger brother’s back.

“There you go,” Lucas murmured, “get it all out. You’ll feel better once you’re done.”

Unfortunately, it would still be a bit before Asher was done. He retched over and over, burping up yesterday’s dinner and perhaps even lunch as well, until every bit of bile in his stomach had made its way into the bag. He gave a few miserable dry heaves before finally sinking back against the car seat with a groan.

Lucas continued to rub his back, moving the bag aside to be dealt with later. Felix seemed rather glad that this ordeal had reached its end, as he’d been growing queasy as a spectator. Asher slowly leaned over and returned to his earlier position of using Lucas’s lap as a pillow.

The second eldest looked down at his tiny brother with concern. Asher was short and very thin, but he usually carried himself with a confidence that outweighed his size. Right now, however, he looked particularly tiny and worryingly frail. Lucas opted to just stroke the smaller boy’s hair this time, slightly afraid that rubbing Asher’s back might shatter him into a million delicate pieces.

The last few minutes of the drive were blissfully uneventful. Thank god, Asher thought, that they were almost to their new house. He knew he would sleep like the dead tonight, tonight being as soon as he got into the house and near a bed, or even a couch.

By now, we’re all pretty used to people speeding up vocal samples to make them sound like Alvin And The Chipmunks. It’s how Kanye West launched his career. But what happens when you slow down Alvin And The Chipmunks so much that the vocals sound like they were sung by a regular human? As it turns out, you get an amazing collision of pop vocals and sludge-filled doom metal instrumentals.

Toronto-based electronic musician Brian Borcherdt, best known for his work with Holy Fuck, is the mind behind chipmunkson16speed, which is the result of finding both a bunch of old Chipmunks records and a suitcase record player with 16 RPM setting.

This is insane.

this is the best song in the world?
