As said in this post, Matthew Macfadyen was to read a part from Anna Rice’s new book Prince Lestat (requested by the author herself, who thinks he is the ‘Marius of her dreams’) at the midnight book launch in London, yesterday (10/29/2014).
Here is what she said about the reading:
Good Morning, People of the Page in America and in the United Kingdom. Here’s a clip of Matthew Macfadyen reading “Blood Genesis” from “Prince Lestat.” Thanks to all of you wonderful UK readers who attended the midnight event at the British Library, where this reading took place, and thanks so much to all of you for posting about it on the page, and sharing the experience with me and others here. I so wish I could have been there. I love Matthew MacFayden and always have —- from MI-5, Ripper Street, Pillars of the Earth, and Pride and Prejudice. What a joy it is for me that he has done this reading from my work.

All thanks to Matyas Kadar, who uploaded the video on Youtube, we all can hear him read.
And you can see two pictures of him: one from @vintagebooks and another from @carliebonavia.

Her pleasure in the walk must arise from the exercise and the day, from the view of the last smiles of the year upon the tawny leaves and withered hedges, and from repeating to herself some few of the thousand poetical descriptions extant of autumn–that season of peculiar and inexhaustible influence on the mind of taste and tenderness–that season which has drawn from every poet worthy of being read some attempt at description, or some lines of feeling.
Jane Austen, Persuasion (1818)
I ride waves of loneliness and independence but sometimes I wonder if it’s the same wave and I just see the bad side sometimes, other times the good.
Same.
