ok really interested to see how this one works out.
Hhm not to be controversial but I can't see this without weighing in... so I'll say this: Bing Crosby is criminally underrated because people mostly know him as an old guy. He's adorable and handsome in his early 1930s movies! With and without his ears glued back (ouch). The magazines ragged on him because he was a little chubby but y'all. He was hot. I'll die on that hill. Plus his voice and jazzy/romantic singing (exhibit [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6]) during that time were just 🤌💋 Frankly, I'm not even sure that I've ever heard a more pleasant speaking voice and cadence in my life.
People need to check out Here is My Heart (1934). That's just peak stuff. Very cute movie.
Ok and he was also peaking in Going Hollywood (1933) but beware that this movie has a scene of Marion Davies in blackface and is just generally somewhat bizarre.
I rest my case.

Love your blog!
Thanks ❤️
I'll use this to also address the anons who made requests: I got them and I've added them to my list of requested movies! (Which is currently The Tales of Hoffmann, In the Good Old Summertime, The Glass Slipper, King Creole, Bye Bye Birdie.)
Also, my computer broke down yesterday so I can't make any gifs on there until that's fixed (seems like either the GPU or RAM need replacing). I still have a couple of sets in my drafts, so I hope that'll tide me over but just saying, the latest requests might take a while 😅

In between there’s First a Girl (1935), starring Jessie Matthews and Sonnie Hale
Excellent, thanks for pointing this out!

I’m receiving quite a lot of anon requests at the moment. I won’t be replying individually to them anymore. Generally, requests are semi-open. Please check my request policy page before making a request (and please also read my replies if I do post them).
Currently working on: The Music Man, Viva Las Vegas, In the Good Old Summertime, The Glass Slipper, Victor/Victoria, The Tales of Hoffmann. I’ll mix these requests in between sets I do of other movies of my own accord, so it can take a while. I’m open for suggestions but limited in time, hence semi-open. Thanks @ everyone for understanding!

chiming in to say i love both of these suggestions, those are two of my faves always, and it makes me so glad to see your blog active again 🥰
aww thanks! me coming back to make gifs as if i have any clue what i’m doing:
When you get a chance, I'd love to see more gifs from Summer Stock! Particularly of Joe and Jane's relationship (I love them). Also if you could do The Music Man, too, that'd be awesome!
Oh yes I need to make more sets of Summer Stock, good call. Maybe I can do something later. And I have The Music Man though I haven't watched it yet but maybe I can also do a few gifs of that, thanks for the suggestion!
