i’m scared for season three…

(the bear season two spoilers below)

ok i’ve seen someone talk about this and the more i thought about it, i could definitely see sydney’s health being brought up in season three (hell, might even be one of the central plot points)…

so we know how sydney’s mom died of lupus, meaning that the disease runs throughout the family.

in season one, we see sydney’s medicine cabinet basically be filled to the brim

then in season two, we see at the end of how she starts to not feel well, exhibiting some of those symptoms (not being able to breathe, repeatedly throwing up, etc.).

and she is older than her mother now…

now, im not saying something fatal is going to happen to her, but i can see her having to be hospitalized for a good bit. (i also kinda feel like marcus’ mother being in the hospital could be seen as foreshadowing this)

because of her being dedicated to the new restaurant, wanting to get a michelin star, and taking on a new leadership role, i can see her possibly forgetting to take her meds and with that being combined to the new level of stress she’s gonna be dealing with… yea, im worried for my girl

i feel like there’s going to be a huge scare that both we (the audience) and everyone working at the bear are going to feel because we don’t know what syd’s hospitalization could entail for her future, the restaurant’s, or anyone else’s.

her dad would have to go through another scary, heartbreaking time and go through the fear of losing someone else dear to him. and on top of that, she’s the only family he has left (as i far as i remember).

everybody at the bear would feel a massive loss if she were to be hospitalized. especially carmy. carmy wouldn’t know what to do without his partner (and after admitting to her that he couldn’t do this without her, ughh gut-wrenching).

i feel like loss, the idea of it, and how things aren’t for granted are going to be some themes that are heavilyyy explored in the next season with not only marcus possibly having to deal with the loss of his mother, but everyone having to deal with the fear of losing sydney.

Carmy reacting to Claire's message/giving her a fake number vs Carmy reacting to Sydney's message and her having his real number

There's so much I could say about this. The first thing I want to point out is that Carmy gives Claire a fake number, not by accident but knowingly. She must've known this as throughout the season she asks him why and even asks him if it's even okay that she has his number.

Meanwhile, with Sydney it's established in season one that they already exchanged numbers as they're texting each other in the final episode. Now, they do work together and colleagues, especially business partners are going to need each other's contact information in order to discuss things.

But Carmy doesn't seem bothered by Sydney having his number, in fact in E5, he asks Sydney why she didn't call him about a problem that happened at the restaurant. And you can see a chain of text messages in E3 where they jest about Fak not having the proper tools. So then that begs the question as to why Claire having his number was such a big deal and why Carmy was so against it?

Like I mentioned before Claire brings this up a lot and Carmy either ignores it or answers her by not really addressing the question. He obviously didn't want her to have his number, as he's very surprised when she ends up calling his real number. This means that if she didn't chase his real number down by asking Fak, then they would've never reconnected or had a relationship this season, something Carmy might not have wanted. And honestly, it really did feel like Claire pushed the idea of a relationship on to him.

Then there's the differences in Carmy's reactions to Sydney's messages vs Claire's. I was genuinely surprised that when Claire gave him encouragement for passing the fire suppression test he looked at it like it was nothing, not a smile, not even a reply, just a blank expression. This is his 'girlfriend' and her encouragement means very little to him apparently.

Then there's Sydney. Though we didn't get to see them text often this season, or his reaction to her messages. Last season, we saw him smiling like a teenager when she told him to shove his idea up his ass. Now, the fact that Carmy texted Sydney before opening Mikey's letter shows just how important their relationship is to him, he couldn't fathom reading what his brother wrote him without first mending their own broken partnership. In a way, them mending their relationship was the encouragement he needed to open the letter and HE is the one that reaches out for that, HE is the one that texts Sydney first.

So yeah, that's all I have really. I noticed it and I thought I'd share my thoughts on here. I'd love to hear what everyone else thinks!

ok yes the under the table scene and the scene in the alleyway will always be everything to me

but!

a scene i realllyyy appreciate (that i think is overlooked) is when syd & carmy walk out from a room (the bathroom?) in the beginning of ep. 2 and are in the middle of a personal conversation, walking close to one another.

i’ll never forget seeing this for the first time and just being like “wow” because they’ve become more comfortable with each other.

alsoooo god what do you mean sydney is just casually bringing up issues she has with her father to carmy, who is fully listening to her AND tries to be reassuring.

the whole scene basically gave married couple energy.

“I was supposed to go to France. I’m 18, I haven’t been anywhere. There’s still so many things I want to do. I don’t want to die in here. Not like this.”

A few kind words...

Okay I know it may seem like a lot of the fandom is against us Scalia shippers, but I really do need to point out that it’s not so much as a bunch of people as it is some people who are just really loud and annoying.

Scallison shippers are angry because of course they are. They treated Scira shippers like shit as well. They’re going to be mad at every ship involving Scott because they’re a bunch of bitter bitches.

Scira shippers are angry about how their ship and namely Arden was treated. Instead of pointing their anger at the people who are responsible for that, like the writers for example, they’ve decided that Scalia is the easier target. Why blame the people who are responsible when you can blame the people who had no part in the shit they’re angry about? And just for the record, a lot of people in the Scalia fandom agree that Arden was treated like shit. But it’s also NOT OUR FAULT!

Stalia shippers are angry because of how Stalia ended, and just like Scira shippers are blaming the group that had nothing to do with it because we’re the low hanging fruit.

Stydia shippers are angry because…actually I don’t see why they’re joining in on this. Our ship does not have anything to do with theirs in any way, shape or form. If anything, it actually makes sure that Malia won’t try to get Stiles back, which gives Stydia some security. Maybe it’s because of the trailers. I just assumed they’re showing so little Stydia so they can save those scenes for when they actually air. Either way, they’ve joined in for stupid reasons because, again, we have nothing to do with that.

Now let me try to explain something to you spiteful little babies. Scalia was a crackship! A lot of us wanted it to happen but we didn’t think it would. Before this announcement, the Scalia/Scolia tags were mostly silent. They got new posts every once in a while, but it was easily the most inactive shipping fandom in this show. Even less than Scallison, and Allison is DEAD.

Most of us didn’t push for this because we didn’t believe it was possible. To those of you calling this fanservice, go fuck yourselves. We didn’t push for this enough for the writers to do this purely for fanservice. What fans are they servicing?! The fans from one of the least active shipping fandoms on their show? How does that accomplish anything? Stydia is a FAR bigger fanservice than Scalia.

We didn’t do shit, you whiny little bitches. Most of us Scalia shippers are just as shocked as you are. But now that our crackship, our long shot ship is becoming a thing, we’re sure as hell going to be excited about it.

This is not us versus you. This is you being unreasonably pissed off at us while we’re just happy our ship is happening. I’m personally not the least bit interested in your childish little shipping war, and considering that there are only limited episodes left, I don’t NEED to worry about your temper tantrum for very long.

Keep your bitching in your own tag and stay out of ours. You want to be a big baby and throw a fit? Feel free. That’s your right. But right now, you’re just a bigger shipping fandom slinging shit at a smaller shipping fandom because you’re a bunch of bitter assholes who just want something to direct their anger at.

But I need to reiterate to everyone else, these are just a small section of those shipping fandoms. They’re loud, whiny, and annoying but they’re not large in number. It’s basically just the same people saying the same shit over and over again. Most of the people in those fandoms, I’m quite sure, do not give a damn about any of this.

But those few people are nonetheless, really annoying.

Preach.
