one of those rare quiet moments
Man of the moment Keanu Reeves has shown his generosity by giving away £50 million of his earnings from the Matrix sequels. The 38-year-old decided to hand over the money to the unsung heroes of the sci-fi blockbusters - the costume and special effects teams.
*fistbump*
Confirmed. He’s also dumped millions into cancer research. I really do love Keanu Reeves a lot.
Keanu Reeves is like the nicest person. He still lives in an apartment/flat and he gives most of his money away to charities and people who need it. He even invites some paparazzi people to sit down and eat with him when he’s at a coffee shop or restaurant. He’s such a nice person.
When I was working on the UWS, one of my delivery guys accidentally backed his scooter into a parked car in front of the restaurant. I went out to help, since the driver didn’t speak much English, and it turned out the car belonged to Keanu Reeves. He helped us pick the scooter up, and when I asked if we could exchange insurance information (because the front of the car was pretty banged up), he kept telling us not to worry about it and put his hand on the driver’s shoulder and said “I just want to make sure you’re okay, man. Are you okay?” And he was so sincere about it and so kind that I decided in that moment I would always defend Keanu Reeves at all costs. He is an excellent man.
I need to be more like Keanu Reeves because I’m evil compared to him.
“Next few centuries”
Keanu dropping hints that he is an immortal.
i love keanu reeves
My wife and I were dining at Nobu’s in Honolulu and sitting across from us was Keanu or at least I thought it was. We kept talking about whether it was him or not and finally, I decided to throw some old school Bill & Ted at him.
I stood up and threw my arms up into the motion of an air guitar, my wife is begging me to sit back down, and I pointed at the guy who may be Keanu Reeves, and said, “Most Excellent.”
He stood up and did it back at me. Then we both had a moment and pointed at each other. I sent him another of whatever it was he was drinking. It was a cucumber sake martini. That was the end of it.
Or so I thought.
He left before we finished our meal. By the time we were done, dessert came that we didn’t order. We thought, “oh, must be compliments of the chef.” Then the bill never came. When we asked for it, our waitress said Keanu Reeves took care of it.
IT WAS REALLY HIM. And he left a note. It said, “thanks for the refresh. Keanu.”
When I finally saw him again years later, because of work. I brought it up. Then he air guitar and said, “most excellent. I remember. At Nobu’s. Thanks for the drink.” We chatted a bit and I got an autograph for my mum because she’s a huge Keanu fan. Then that was that.
What a moment.
An angel
And he does a lot of anti human trafficking work iirc. Seems like a really awesome guy.
Back when I first moved to NYC, I got a job as a theater usher. We were all young, 18-20 or so, and it was heavily impressed upon us that we needed to treat the theatergoers with TOTAL respect at ALL times or risk our jobs. As such, we were all totally underprepared for the drunk guy who tried to steal a bottle of wine from the lobby bar during intermission. We were trying to politely get the bottle back, but he was growing loud and belligerent. Since the second act was now starting, this was a countdown to all of us being in trouble.
Then Keanu walks up. Calmly charms the guy. Slips the usher behind the bar cash to cover the bottle, without the guy even noticing, and walks him back in to his seat like it’s a normal thing he does every day. He didn’t know the guy, didn’t know any of us, but effortlessly deescalated the situation and quite probably saved some jobs that night.
Just a wandering do-gooder, this man.
never not reblog the good guy keanu master post

TAKE! YOUR! BATH! CARL!
Do you see that? Looks like a joke image, right? Well, it isn’t.
This happens in Venezuela. It looks like nobody knows how is our crisis, because I’ve talked with a lot of people (Americans, French, Canadian and even Mexican people) who really don’t know what is happening.
I’ll explain the imagen.
In Venezuela, we haven’t medicines, even in the hospitals. This is because a patient with hypoglycemia is being attended in this way, because the hospital don’t have dextrose for the people. This is happening in Caracas, Venezuela’s capital. But not only in Caracas, is confirmed that in Maracaibo too, and who know where too.
Another cases:
“I take prednisone for animals because I can’t found it anywhere and it helps me, isn’t logic, but our health can’t wait”
“Confirmed, I’m medic performing in so many decadency. We even’t have privates places for dextrose for decompensated diabetics and believe me I could write for hours about so many that I’ve lived in the middle of this catastrophic crisis, where personally I’ve take with me a hurted pacient behind of a 350 because we haven’t ambulances, where we haven’t gloves for protect ourselves and a lot of things like that, this is the reality…. It must be give “ORALLY” because the drink is rich in glucose (Sugar) for these pacients this imagen showes [She means the soda imagen] how is conected to a micromanager where it doesn’t looks very good… But it’s valid by an OROGASTRIC probe. As a heroic way, becase like we know “It’s incorrect”.
I even can give my own testomony. My mom is sick, and she must work everyday, I can’t help her because my leg is broken, and my brother must help his own family. She’s in pain everyday, and the money is too hard to found. If there’s money, but there’s no medicine. And, if there’s medicine, there’s no money, because all the treatments are very expensive, like everything, for our inflation on the 1600%.
Please, help us.
I’m sorry, guys. Can you help me to spread this? :C I need that people know about Venezuela’s situation. I’m sorry for bother you.
I’d be very interested in seeing more information on this. This sounds like something out of a post-apocalyptic nightmare novel.
Sure thing, my friend!
Since 2014, our crisis is worse with the health zone. There’s no too many medicines, and a lot of operations and treatments are delayed for this same reason.
The hospitals don’t have spaces, litters or beds for the patients.
If you go to a farmacy, there’s no medicine.
A lot of hospitals are in a terrible state.
Supplies that were lacking in public hospitals included sterile gloves and gauze, antiseptics, alcohol for medical use, scalpels, needles, catheters, intravenous solutions, nebulizers and surgical sutures. It was even common to lack basic cleaning supplies (such as bleach), which are essential to ensure a sterile environment in hospitals. Unhealthy conditions have led to in-hospital infections that could have been prevented.
And this is only talking about the health zone.
If we talk about the food shortage and the hyper inflation…
We must do LOOOOOONG lines for hours for buy the basic food. Like flour, sugar, rice, pasta, meat, chicken….
We only can buy one time at the week, for the last number of our ID.
If you search in Google “The next Venezuela”, you’ll see we aren’t a country anymore. We are a level in the shitmeter.
Christ, I’m so sorry. If there are any charities or reputable organizations we can donate to, I’d love to share links to them. ;;
Y'all this shortage of necessities shit had been going on in Venezuela for at least a decade. I have never been able to help because I don’t know what charities are allowed in or out of Venezuela and I don’t trust the people who run those charities to tell the truth.
Please - someone IN Venezuela. Give me a name. A valid website. Something. I will do my damnedest to make something happen, even if it’s just a few families getting fed a few days.
(Love how they voted the fucker out and he’s still in power. Just. So awesome. -_-)
This is the first time I see a post on this site about my country and it breakes my heart… Because I want to give you names of charities so you can actually help us but I know people that tried to donate meds and food but our fucking goverment blocked that help. They refuse to accept aid. They are so fucking sick of power that just don’t care about us.
The only way we have to fight this crisis is through social media, we use twitter to find meds and food and we came up with a few apps like Donamed or Akiztá to help us find what we need.
There are a bunch of twitter accounts dedicated to locate meds, such as: @spvzla, @MedicinasEquiv, @Flapastillita, @compartex1vida, @sanandove, @Donatumed, @AyudaMedicinasV y @DonandoMedicin1
For the people out there that want to help, like I said… it’s hard to tell you how you could do that because there’s no warranty that we’ll get the help. Still, I won’t let them win so I did my research and I found a few websites that I think you guys can trust and can donate to.
http://comparteporunavida.com/ —> With your donation, this people get formula and nutritional suppliments for children in hospitals and homes in need.
http://www.ayudahumanitariavenezuela.org/english.html —> You can go to their online shop to buy medical supplies from a wish list, which are then delivered to those in need.
https://www.soschildrensvillages.org.uk/donate/sponsor-a-child/ —> I think you can choose and sponsor a Venezuelan child.
http://www.chamos.org.uk/about-us/ —> They provide financial support for children to acquire medical, educational or other essential equipment.
http://www.corazonymanosenaccion.com/dona_ahora.htm —> The thing with this site is that the bank accounts they work with are from here, so I don’t know the process when it’s an international donation.
The other sites I could find two gofundme created by people like you and me, I hope they mean well and that the money they receive reaches the people who really need it.
If anyone knows more valid websites where people can go and make their donation, please feel free to add it.
And of course SPREAD THE WORD! The more we all know about the crisis, the bigger chance we have of making a difference in the lives of those who are suffering.
This explains a little why I want to leave the country please reblog so everyone can see what happens in my country
You see, our country has been in a crises for years, but since 2016 it became WAY WORSE and honestly we don’t eve know what to do. Every day there’s ton of people that leave the country in hope to find a better place to live, but because of this, many other countries like Mexico, Colombia, Panamá and United State have BANNED the venezuelans from getting in, the xenophobia against us getting worse every day. And for those who stay, it’s almost impossible to live if you don’t have access to Dollars.
Let me put it in this way; If you have a job here, the minimum salary you get is 5.000.000 BsF. Sounds like a lot, right? Well, it isn’t, because with that, you can’t even an egg carton, valued in 5.800.000 BsF. Jobs are poorly paid and everything is waaaaaaay too expensive for us to buy it. Plus like you read above, food is hard to find, we don’t have medicines here and, a top of that, services like electricity and water fail EVERY TIME, leaving places with over 20 days without water or an entire week without power.
Public transport practically doesn’t exist, in the capital we mostly rely in our subway system, which is failing every day, it gets no maintenance so it presents delays and problems all the time. There are only around 1-2 buses in every area of the city, taxis are too expensive and if you think you can just walk to your destination think it twice, because the insecurity won’t let you walk on the street without being an easy victim of a robbery or even worse; a murder.
All the help is blocked, other countries have tried to send us food and medicines but the government just rejects it and doesn’t let it in. You could say “but why did you guys vote for him?” And that’s the thing, we didn’t. They always post fake numbers, cheat in elections and even threat people to vote for them or they’ll stop giving them money and food.
We have been trying to overthrow this government since 2014, in fact, we practically had two civil wars since that date, but there’s no avail… the whole army is with the government, so if someone tries to protest, the army kills them. There have been occasions when we need to hide in our houses, block the windows and turn the lights off because the government is around destroying private property (buildings), shooting, throwing tear gas or the Chavistas got in their motorbikes and start shooting to the apartments and houses with no reason. If you don’t believe me, just look for it on Youtube, put “Protestas en Venezuela” and you’ll see the chaos. We practically live in a post-apocalyptic society.
I could spend here the whole day writing about how terrible is our situation, but I already wrote too much.
If you know someone from Venezuela in your country, ask them how you can help us, they probably still have family here and are trying their best to earn money to be able to take their family out of here.
If you see a Venezuelan artist doing commissions, try to commission them or donating them at least 1 usd, there are high chances that it is the only “proper” income their family have. (Or they’re trying to save money to leave the country).
Fight for us in your country, if you see xenophobic acts against us, try to help us and change the mind of the xenophobic person/group.
This is horrible.

Do these straight people just like
Not actually comprehend anything happening right in front of them
heteronormativity is a hell of a drug
May I add:
Once on Facebook I mentioned getting married at a big mad max themed campout. One of the guys that regularly attends told me to take my wife to visit his camp for a drink. I told him my husband, actually.
And he then said “wow, I’m sorry, I’ve never met a girl named dave before! Now I’ve seen everything.”
This dude thought I was a girl name David before he thought I was a gay man. Straight people are wild.
Iconic seafarer beards became a trend to scare away pesky mermaids.
Mermaid, seeing a bald pirate: Zero threat…! Mermaid, seeing a hairy, bearded pirate: If I get too close their face tentacles will eat me…!
Most mermaids only grow short beards as not to scare baby mermaids (longer beards look like the tentacled mouths of hungry squids and octopuses).
Pirates use this innate fear to their advantage to protect themselves from mermaids, hence the iconic beards and hat:
I like how this is presented as factual information
