I could talk about people being charged for crimes they didn't commit. I could talk about coerced confessions. The best that I can tell, it’s primarily about remaining Pure.

Obviously, the people who think they’re too leftist to vote aren’t monolithic, so no one reason fits all of them. But there’s a clear trend among many of them that they see voting for someone who has done things they personally find to be sufficiently Impure—or, in some cases, voting at all within an Impure system—as being an act that will somehow harm them.

So they stand firm in their conviction that they mustn’t vote, and instead talk about how great it will be when we finally have a Pure system, with only Pure candidates…

And this mindset is one of the things that has consistently fucked serious socialist governments once they do gain power, is the thing. (Another of the things is the CIA but that's another conversation.)

Because if you are unwilling to try to build institutions that can fluctuate and evolve and potentially be used in ways that aren't true to your vision, you not only have to institute tyranny, you have to build your entire system around maintaining your tyranny forever.

And once all your other goals hinge upon retaining power forever, they become subordinate to it.

At which point there is no realistic future to the Tyranny Of The Proletariat other than the tyranny of you personally. Which means you are going to 1) liquidate your own peasants or whatever similar scenario arises in your context and later 2) be overthrown and leave no useful institutional legacy, because you founded it all on virtue-by-fiat.

The self-cannibalism of ideological purity is never pretty, but in the context of government it's particularly bad.

The whole "the brain isn't fully mature until age 25" bit is actually a fairly impressive bit of psuedoscience for how incredibly stupid the way it misinterprets the data it's based on is.

Okay, so: there's a part of the human brain called the "prefrontal cortex" which is, among other things, responsible for executive function and impulse control. Like most parts of the brain, it undergoes active "rewiring" over time (i.e., pruning unused neural connections and establishing new ones), and in the case of the prefrontal cortex in particular, this rewiring sharply accelerates during puberty.

Because the pace of rewiring in the prefrontal cortex is linked to specific developmental milestones, it was hypothesised that it would slow down and eventually stop in adulthood. However, the process can't be directly observed; the only way to tell how much neural rewiring is taking place in a particular part of the brain is to compare multiple brain scans of the same individual performed over a period of time.

Thus, something called a "longitudinal study" was commissioned: the same individuals would undergo regular brain scans over a period of mayn years, beginning in early childhood, so that their prefrontal development could accurately be tracked.

The longitudinal study was originally planned to follow its subjects up to age 21. However, when the predicted cessation of prefrontal rewiring was not observed by age 21, additional funding was obtained, and the study period was extended to age 25. The predicted cessation of prefrontal development wasn't observed by age 25, either, at which point the study was terminated.

When the mainstream press got hold of these results, the conclusion that prefrontal rewiring continues at least until age 25 was reported as prefrontal development finishing at age 25. Critically, this is the exact opposite of what the study actually concluded. The study was unable to identify a stopping point for prefrontal development because no such stopping point was observed for any subject during the study period. The only significance of the age 25 is that no subjects were tracked beyond this age because the study ran out of funding!

I gets me when people try to argue against the neuroscience-proves-everybody-under-25-is-a-child talking point by claiming that it's merely an average, or that prefrontal development doesn't tell the whole story. Like, no, it's not an average – it's just bullshit. There's no evidence that the cited phenomenon exists at all; if there is an age where prefrontal rewiring levels off and stops (and it's not clear that there is), we don't know what age that is; we merely know that it must be older than 25.

Because you have to wait for weeks until even normal seeds “work”, and months before they “flower,” there are no negative consequences to the sellers; you’ll time out of your consumer rights, lose interest or lose steam, or simply forget about it long before you ever complain. They, for their part, can simply change the name of their online storefront. The cost is low enough that people won’t retaliate (about $20) and gardening is such a black box of skill anyway that normal people may even blame themselves for not getting the desired result. after all, even experienced gardeners - and legitimate seed sellers - don’t bother much with refunds for seed failures. At most you write a review saying it was a disappointing variety, and the seller sells a different variety next year. So even people who know what they’re doing wouldn’t bother with consequences, which is why the scam is evergreen.

AI does drastically increase the ability to generate appealing images for free, but the scam is the same. 

You do receive seeds in this scam, but apparently they are just generic flower  seeds. A Redditor who ordered them drunkenly apparently had them ID’ed as pansy or petunia seeds.

As someone who’s been learning to throw pots on a wheel lately, I read that and thought, ‘Ha! It’s something on a deeper DNA scale, that evokes this anger in me. It’s not even the people who actually listen to either, it’s the not understanding the nuances, the culture part. Kendrick and most rappers hate Drake because not only does his shitty non-lyrical music and sneak disses EVERYBODY all the time, even legends like common, mos def, etc. and still charts while also claiming to be the best rapper alive. His sick ass even bought tupacs ring. On top of all of that he is a fucking predator.

Another thing I see going on is people saying 🤓☝🏻”Kendrick had the rapist Kodak Black on his album! Hypocrite!” Which is true, kb settled out of court in 2016 on a sexual assault case, and it was distasteful to have him on MMATBS, but he’s been on a plethora of other songs, been in the media for other shit too.
