I have such sights to show you...

oh my god? the x files-fandom was the fandom that invented the word ‘shipping’? JESUS CHRIST I LOVE Y’ALL

Yes, back in the early days, there were two camps of fans: “Relationshippers” (people all about the MSR) and the “NoRomos” (people all about the platonic partnership.) Relationshippers was eventually shortened to “shippers.”

The X-Files popularity just happened to parallel the birth of the internet. Philes took it by storm with the creation of fan forums, chat groups, and hundreds of websites devoted to the show, characters, and the actors. :)

The X-Files fandom also coined the term UST (Unresolved Sexual Tension) as a fanfic descriptor. :D Fandom history is pretty neat.

fruck man

The first instance of the term “binge watching” also appeared in an online X-Files forum back in the 90s.

what a time that was to be alive

It was a great time indeed.

Thank you X-Files

Oh, man! If you love this, wait until you hear about how Star Trek fans coined the term “slash.”

Fandom history is The Best.

Hooray! Finally got around to putting my Amanda Conner prints in a (slightly less terrible) frame!

The images are from the Gargoyles comics by Marvel (Way before Disney actually owned them lol). They’re both 11″x17″ and signed by the artist.

I got these bad boys approximately 1,000 years ago when I met Miss Conner at Dragon*Con. What a talent (and a very nice person)!

Now to find a place of honor on the wall...

his first time at the beach and………… 😭💦

Oooh noooooo

He thought it was

The biggest puddle

He'd go splashing through.

Turns out, it was the smallest LAKE -

And the DEEPEST, too.

This is one of my favorite pics of me (and the Boyfriend who is now The Hubs) because the combination of faded colors, the dirty old picture frame, and my questionable fashion sense makes it look like it’s from the 70s, but this photo was really taken in, like, 2007.

If it weren’t for humans, cows would not be prey animals 😤

So…. did they… think that cows were initially carnivorous?

I’m more concerned about the implications that they want to re-create these carnivorous cows.

[Image transcript: “WE as humans have made them prey animals. Change is possible.”]

My brain’s on the topic of Greek mythology at the moment, and I swear I remember some flesh-eating cattle. Anyone available to back me up on this?

I am reasonably confident not, but I may be mistaken. I offer instead flesh-eating horses.

*sigh* It was probably them and I was misremembering my hoofstock.
